The Cheat Emperor of the Culinary World

The people within the circle initially thought that she was a so-called heir protected by the ancestral halo, but unexpectedly, Liu Yunong’s cooking skills were very solid, and her innovative ability was extremely strong.

Sometimes, those peers who have dealt with Liu Yunong would particularly suspect that the Liu Family must have some kind of generational inheritance. They wondered if Liu Yunong was actually Lady Liu reincarnated, which would explain her many talents and aura.

However, Liu Yunong has always neither confirmed nor denied such things. Only she knew how hard she worked and how much effort she put in behind the scenes.

But after inadvertently taking Fu Yu as an apprentice, Liu Yunong occasionally felt a sense of emotion.

Perhaps she really was blessed by her ancestors; otherwise, how could her first apprentice be so satisfactory?

Good-looking, talented in cooking, and young — with such potential for the future.

Thinking of these things inevitably made her think of her sister.

Liu Yuqing is actually quite outstanding as well, beautiful, well-behaved, very clever, and much to Liu Yunong’s satisfaction, just a bit immature in temperament.

Originally, she felt that regardless of Fu Yu’s background or other aspects, except for being handsome, he was not worthy of her sister.

But after interacting with Fu Yu for a while, Liu Yunong suddenly found herself increasingly dissatisfied with her own sister.

Fond of food and lazy, avoiding housework, with a lively personality, although she had a fairly clear life plan, it was a bit unrealistic, always tinged with a youthful naivety.

Actually, if Fu Yu really became her brother-in-law, thinking about it carefully, it wouldn’t be bad.

Fu Yu has a good personality, is steady and reliable, and in the future, when he has a family, he will certainly be responsible.

Moreover, if they become a family, it would be more rightful for him to inherit the Liu Family Cuisine.

Then she would have someone to carry on the legacy.

She suddenly felt an impulse to ask Liu Yuqing, what was her current situation with Fu Yu? How far had they progressed? Had they confirmed their relationship?

Thinking of this, Liu Yunong quickly shook her head, not daring to have such thoughts.

...

In the kitchen of the Shangshi Private Kitchen.

Fu Yu stood at the kitchen counter, cooking Fried Lotus Root Sandwiches as requested by Liu Yunong.

This dish wasn’t very popular in Bei’an.

Instead, Fried Eggplant Sandwiches were more common.

Compared to the crispy on the outside, tender and delicious Fried Eggplant Sandwiches, the Fried Lotus Root Sandwiches are fragrant, crispy, tender, and suitable for home cooking without a fixed style.

Precisely because of this characteristic, the Shangshi Private Kitchen elevated this dish to a high-end private dish.

For a beautiful presentation, during cooking, the fresh meat stuffed into the lotus root must perfectly avoid all the holes, only being filled at the connections.

This really tests the chef’s technique.

It indirectly increased the cooking difficulty of the dish, especially raising the requirements for stuffing to a higher level.

Fu Yu felt helpless and speechless...

Looking at the spectators at the kitchen counter, besides Liu Yunong, there were Wang Yulong, Liu Zhangpeng, and two assistants who took a break to watch the fun.

Fu Yu glanced at them from the corner of his eye, sighing inwardly.

Is it really that amusing to watch me cook?

Especially Liu Zhangpeng, standing there with a teasing smile, occasionally pointing here and there, and bursting into joyful laughter whenever Fu Yu’s hand slipped.

Was the schadenfreude really necessary to be so obvious?

What’s so funny!

Never seen a beginner?

Wang Yulong, however, was giving a satisfied review: ”Xiaofu, not bad, your technique has clearly improved compared to yesterday. This time you only failed twice in stuffing, definitely better than last time. Keep it up!”

Fu Yu suddenly looked deflated.

Why did those words sound like a scolding!

I’ll endure!

Isn’t it just stuffing?

I refuse to believe that continuous practice won’t achieve perfection.

Fu Yu resolved that if it doesn’t work out, he’ll simply use skill points to directly raise the stuffing skill to advanced level.

After all, he has accumulated as many as 24 skill points now.

He has been saving them without using them.

At present, in order to maintain his self-esteem, he’s willing to go all out!

Looking at Liu Zhangpeng’s teasing gaze, Fu Yu squinted and smiled: ”Master, rest assured, I will practice diligently and I definitely have to master this stuffing skill!”

Liu Yunong smiled slightly: ”Mm, since there’s time today, all the stuffing work is for you.”

Compared to others, Fu Yu realized for the first time that Liu Yunong was really quite good to him.

Never resorting to mere lip service, she taught him the most practical skills and was willing to offer him the most convenient opportunities to hone his cooking skills within her capabilities.

Meeting such an understanding and very good mentor was truly a lucky thing.

Yet Fu Yu did not become conceited; instead, he worked hard to seize every opportunity to improve himself.

Although progress was slow, the advancement in stuffing techniques was evident. After all, he was doing this for the seventh time; practice makes perfect.

This Fried Lotus Root Sandwiches was handed over to Fu Yu for cooking.

The meat filling was mixed by Liu Yunong herself, using a secret recipe passed down in the Liu Family.

Fu Yu wasn’t curious to ask, nor did he deliberately try to learn it secretly.

However, once he got the meat filling in hand, he clearly saw all the ratio of ingredients and materials used.

The meat filling wasn’t purely lean, presumably to prevent it from being too dry and lacking aroma.

Seven parts lean, three parts fat, coincidentally matching Fu Yu’s usual preference.

The mixed meat filling was carefully stirred to remove air, with particularly special seasonings, which Fu Yu noted down carefully.

Habitually memorizing the recipes of some secret seasonings.

Fu Yu didn’t plan to use someone else’s recipe for gain, just thought it was indeed a good formula that might be useful for his own family cooking in the future.

Moreover, the formulation of seasonings is often a matter of flexible adaptation, and who knows when inspiration will be triggered.

After all, more knowledge won’t hurt; being prepared is always good!

After half an hour, Fu Yu completed the stuffing of the lotus root sandwiches and took the fermented batter.

The batter was prepared initially; this step is crucial, as the crispness of the coating depends on it.

So this bowl of batter was mixed by Liu Yunong personally, with Fu Yu observing from the side.

Actually, in terms of technique, Fu Yu felt he could do better than Liu Yunong.

After all, he holds a mid-level skill in dough handling, just mixing a bowl of batter was nothing.

Fu Yu checked the fermented batter, which was visibly sour with small bubbles on the surface, just in time.

Fu Yu didn’t act on his own but called Liu Yunong, watching her add salt and pepper to the batter.

While working, Liu Yunong reminded: ”These two seasonings must be added later, or they will affect the fermentation speed of the batter.”

Unconsciously, she had developed the habit of teaching while cooking.

Moreover, she was particularly meticulous when teaching, especially attentive to detail-oriented guidance.
