Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

”Don’t worry about that. The police should arrange things well for the siblings, right?” An Hao said.

”What if they’re too busy catching criminals to handle it?” Ning Chenyang’s concern wasn’t unfounded; he sympathized with the siblings and hoped to provide them with a stable living environment.

”Old Qin... why don’t you mention it to the police? If it really doesn’t work out, we’ll arrange it ourselves!” There’s an orphanage in Nancheng City where the siblings could be sent until they grow up.

”Alright. As you say.” Qin Jian agreed, but not before glaring at An Hao with dissatisfaction, ”Don’t call me Old Qin anymore!”

”Yes! Qin Master!” An Hao giggled.

Qin Jian agreed to take on the matter and immediately set to resolve it. On Monday, Ning Chenyang went to school early, impatiently heading to Luo Tong’s class, eager to tell her about it.

He wanted to reassure Luo Tong that even if her foster father was caught, she and her brother wouldn’t be left alone without care.

Unfortunately, he didn’t see Luo Tong all day.

After school, Ning Chenyang took a bus to Luo Tong’s home, knocking on the door for a long time, but no one answered.

The neighbor told him that Luo Tong and her brother had been picked up by someone, and everything in their home had been moved out; they were unlikely to return.

Just like that, she left without a word.

Ning Chenyang didn’t see her again for the next ten years, and their brief friendship got buried with time. Many years later, when Luo Tong reappeared before Ning Chenyang, things had changed.

However, their story wasn’t over yet.

A week later, it was already the end of September. Ji Chuan and Yan Huan’s wedding in October was fast approaching.

Coinciding with the celebration is Ning Chenyang’s commendation ceremony. No, that’s not entirely accurate; it’s a commendation ceremony for frontline police officers and concerned citizens.

This year is a crackdown year.

Strictly cracking down on various criminal activities, this was a significant province-wide operation that lasted for a month.

During this crackdown, significant results were achieved in various cities, breaking up numerous criminal organizations, especially those with gang-related activities.

Nancheng City’s performance was outstanding, solving a major case.

Although the case was an old one, the criminals were cunning, and all these years, their criminal roots had not been eradicated.

In this crackdown, the police performed exceptionally, completely dismantling the crime syndicate. Almost all criminals were brought to justice, with hardly any escaping.

At the provincial commendation meeting, Nancheng City’s police received an award.

Following that, under the attention of city leaders, further commendations for the police and the reporting citizens were planned, along with extensive media coverage to enhance the image of the police and set a good example for the public.

Ning Chenyang, as a representative of citizens who actively provided clues, was also honored, encouraging more citizens to act bravely.

Before the commendation ceremony, An Hao and Qin Jian specially went to He Family Manor to pick up Ning Chenguang.

He not only had to attend his brother’s commendation ceremony but also had an important task from his godmother Yan Huan—to ’carry the burden of joy.’
