Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Ning Chenyang didn’t know about this matter; following the previous agreement, she had been waiting with her pals at the gate of the military district compound for Luo Tong.

Although it was already September, the Autumn Tiger was still fierce, and the weather remained hot.

In a short while, everyone was drenched in sweat.

After waiting for half an hour, eventually, the little friends couldn’t wait any longer and scattered in small groups.

Only Ning Chenyang kept the promise, standing beside the post like a little sentinel.

It wasn’t until Qin Jian came out to find him at lunchtime that Ning Chenyang knew what had happened.

”Yangyang, why don’t you come home for lunch?” Qin Jian said.

”Dad, I’m waiting for Luo Tong. We promised not to leave until we meet!” Ning Chenyang wiped the sweat from his face, looking up at his father’s tall figure, ”Didn’t you always teach me that one must be trustworthy and keep their promises?”

”She probably won’t come.” Qin Jian squatted down to be level with his son, ”I just got a call from the Criminal Police Team; the traffickers you reported have been arrested.”

”Really?” Ning Chenyang exclaimed in surprise, excitedly asking his father, ”How many did the police catch?”

”You could say almost the entire criminal gang was captured.”

”Wow! The police officers are amazing! They even took down the whole gang! This is great. Yan Huan’s godmother will certainly be happy when she finds out, plus it prevents these traffickers from harming anyone!” Ning Chenyang was very excited, realizing that his provided clues had been very useful, meaning he also made a contribution.

”The police have been staking out around his house for so long, and really didn’t expect this time to catch them all in one sweep. The police officers said, thanks to the useful clues you provided, they managed to crack a big case!” Qin Jian felt proud of his son, ”They also said they want to reward you well!”

”Prizes and such aren’t important. As long as I can contribute a little, I’m satisfied!”

”Hmm. Good job!” Qin Jian gave a thumbs up, ”Worthy of being Qin Jian’s son. Let’s go, head home!”

Luo Tong’s father was arrested, so she definitely won’t be coming.

Waiting further was certainly pointless for Ning Chenyang; it was better to follow his father back home for a meal.

The dishes on the table were sumptuous, nearly all were Ning Chenyang’s favorites. Seeing the spread on the table, for the first time, Ning Chenyang lost his appetite, unable to muster any interest.

”Why aren’t you eating? No appetite?” An Hao felt strange seeing her son hesitating to lower the chopsticks, as she wasn’t usually like this.

”I can’t eat.” Ning Chenyang set down his chopsticks, his little brows unconsciously furrowing, his face full of worry.

”Are you sick?” An Hao hurriedly reached out to touch his forehead to check his temperature, ”No fever!”

”I’m not sick. I’m thinking about Luo Tong.”

”Luo Tong... why are you worried about her?” An Hao asked.

”Her foster father was taken away, and from now on, she and her brother won’t have anyone to care for them. What do you think their lives will be like in the future?” Ning Chenyang constantly worried about this matter.

When he called the police, he hesitated.

But his hatred for evil prevailed; his personality nurture from an early age of detesting evil and seeking justice prevented him from turning a blind eye to wrongdoers.

The bad guys are gone, but what about Luo Tong and her little brothers’ future lives?
