Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1447: Chapter 1447 I Can Wait

”I never meant to harm you! I didn’t harbor that kind of intention towards you! I was just worried about taking responsibility myself! After all, I have worked in this hospital for so many years, I can’t bear to leave it!” Ma Mei said, her eyes reddening as tears rolled down.

An Hao looked at Ma Mei’s crocodile tears and sneered coldly, ”Is it that you can’t bear to leave here, or are you worried you’ll lose everything? Ha, that’s right! Without this place, wouldn’t you lose everything you have?”

”An Hao! Must you be so aggressive?” Ma Mei, wiping her tears, looked at her with pained eyes, ”I admit this was all my fault! I will face the consequences. Isn’t that enough? Do you still need to use your blade-like words to cut through my heart?”

”Now you know pain? When Doctor An was pointed at by thousands, where were you? Not only did you not admit your wrong, but you also misled the public’s attention and opinion! Doctor Ma, I can see that the truly vicious person here is you, not someone else!” Ji Chuan couldn’t stand to listen any longer.

”As a senior doctor who has been practicing for more than a decade, making such a basic mistake is not something you should have done! If a doctor makes a mistake and does not admit to it, and furthermore, tries to push that mistake onto others! Such a doctor lacks medical ethics! I strongly demand the dismissal of such a doctor!” Yan Ye said righteously.

”You... you all!” Ma Mei couldn’t believe it, that so many people stood on An Hao’s side, condemning her actions.

Having heard this much, the dean had already come to a conclusion in his heart.

”We need to have a discussion about this matter, and then decide how to deal with it!”

”Just a moment!” An Hao called out to the dean, looking at him very seriously, ”Regarding this matter, may I make a few personal requests?”

”Go ahead. If your requests are reasonable, we’ll certainly consider them seriously!” The dean knew there had been mishandling of the situation.

They had wronged an intern, not giving her the respect and trust she deserved. Now that the facts were cleared up, it was only right for the intern to make some reasonable requests!

An Hao had been waiting for these words. She had been thinking, during these days, if the truth were clarified, how she would proceed.

Now that the opportunity had arrived, she stated her two requests, ”First, I want Doctor Ma to apologize to me in front of all the medical staff to vindicate me! Second, I request to continue my internship at the affiliated hospital! These are my two requests! I believe they are fair and just, and I ask that the hospital authorities consider and agree to them!”

”Your requests are not excessive,” the dean said, ”However, it is too late to hold a general meeting now; likely, we can only resolve and address this matter tomorrow morning!”

”Fine. I can wait,” An Hao agreed.

......................

When she came out of the ward, it was already late.

It was close to the end of the workday, and An Hao wanted to treat her two mentors to dinner. She was able to clear her name, all thanks to the help of these two teachers.

However, Ji Chuan and Yan Ye were too busy to leave due to recent heavy workloads at the hospital.

Thus, they agreed that they would go out for a celebratory drink together on the day An Hao officially returned to the hospital.
