Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1410: Chapter 1410: Falling Down

The police officer, seeing Song Yueqin’s regret, desperately tried to persuade her to come down, ”Please come down quickly! Although you’ll definitely be sentenced, good behavior during imprisonment can reduce your sentence! As long as you willingly reform, it’s possible that you could be released early. If you really jump, however, your life will be over. Compare a few years to a lifetime, and decide for yourself which is better?”

”Can I trust your words?” Yueqin asked, unconvinced.

”We are police officers! We won’t deceive you! Please come down.”

”Alright then,” Yueqin finally agreed. She glanced at An Hao, her lips curving slightly, ”Wait for me. If I’m having a tough time, don’t expect an easy life yourself. After I get out, we can settle our scores slowly.”

An Hao frowned, staring at her, anger churning inside him.

If possible, he really wanted to push this trouble-making woman out of the window.

Unbelievably, just as he finished thinking this, it seemed as if the heavens had heard his deepest thoughts and granted his wish.

Yueqin had just lifted the leg that was outside the window and was about to step in when she accidentally got her hospital pants caught on a nail in the wooden window frame.

This small force from the nail disrupted Yueqin’s balance. Her body suddenly swayed and she tumbled out of the window.

”Be careful!” The nearby officer rushed forward to grab her, but was a step too late—only managing to grasp the hem of her pants.

How strong could a piece of cloth be?

Even if it could temporarily prevent Yueqin from falling, it wouldn’t hold for long.

Her head down, she looked at the dense crowd below, feeling the wind blowing from every direction, her heart nearly leaping out of her throat.

”Help... save me... Help! I don’t want to die,” her voice trembled out, tears streaming down her cheeks.

”Hold on,” said the officer holding onto her pant leg, teeth clenched, ”Don’t move! We’re trying to figure out a way to pull you up.”

The windows of the eighties were different from those today, not made of aluminum but of wood, and they pushed outward.

Only one person could stand in that position immobile.

The other officers tried to open another window to rescue her, but Yueqin’s entire body was already in mid-air, and beside the bit of clothes held by the officer’s hand, there were no other support points.

Even holding onto the clothes, there was no guarantee the material wouldn’t tear and fall.

Yueqin was very aware that rescuing her from this situation was not easy, and with the constant wind, her body swung perilously in the air.

A feeling of despair rose from within, and fear wrapped tightly around her like a venomous snake.

”I don’t want to die! I don’t want to die...”

From the height of twelve stories, falling was certain death, especially head-down.

Below, Zhang Juyun fainted from shock at the sight.

Everyone looked up, each person’s hands tightly clenched with sweat.

Qin Jian stood amidst the crowd, knowing there was no need for him to rush up, as Yueqin likely wouldn’t last much longer.

”Get cushions! Everyone look for cushions to give her some cushioning, to save her life!” the criminal police captain, who came for Yueqin’s capture, shouted.

However, as soon as his words ended, a scream was heard, and Yueqin’s body plummeted from the sky.
