Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1413: Chapter 1413 Unclear Fate

Qin Jian led his team back, and An Hao and the others returned to the hospital ward.

Zhang Yun hurriedly poured a glass of water for Lin Qiushu, ”Here, drink some water!”

”Thank you, auntie. Please don’t bother yourself! Sit down and rest!”

”I’m not tired. I came to see the child, you two chat.” Zhang Yun took the initiative with the child’s matters.

She filled a bottle with water, fed the child, and listened to the conversation between An Hao and Lin Qiushu.

”I didn’t expect you to come. Where did you hear the news?” An Hao asked with a smile.

”Gu Shuangshuang just told me. We met by chance a few days ago, and she mentioned that you had a baby! So I asked her for details,” Lin Qiushu said, while taking out a red brocade box from her bag, ”I’ve brought a gift for the baby.”

”I’m already so happy that you came, and you even brought a gift, at your own expense...” An Hao said while opening the brocade box, seeing two gold longevity locks inside, ”This is too valuable, I can’t accept it. Your presence alone is enough.”

”Don’t talk nonsense, just take it! It’s a gift for the baby, not for you!” Lin Qiushu insisted, pushing the brocade box back into her hands, ”Give it back to me, give it back, or I’ll fall out with you.”

”Well... alright then,” An Hao hesitated and then agreed, warmly inviting her, ”In a few days, we’ll be hosting the baby’s full-month celebration, you must come then.”

”Sure. I’ll definitely come back.” Lin Qiushu readily agreed.

”Don’t forget to bring your grandmother, let her come along!” An Hao also invited the old lady.

”She should stay. She’s old and enjoys tranquility. Her health isn’t very good, and she gets agitated easily! If it weren’t for her beliefs supporting her all these years, she would have collapsed by now,” Lin Qiushu remarked.

An Hao had also seen the old lady’s condition; her health really wasn’t promising.

However, it was a miracle that she had managed to hold on this long under such conditions.

”How is your search for relatives going? Any leads? And your enemy? Have you found them?” Since the subject had come up, An Hao casually asked.

”No. I went to the Qin Family last time and only got a name. That bracelet belonged to Qin Ru Hai’s father, who bought it from a refugee woman. So, now I’m actively searching for that woman,” Lin Qiushu said.

In this era, finding someone was like looking for a needle in a haystack, with no internet, no information database, and even old people lacked household registration books and identity cards.

It was just like dealing with unregistered residents now.

But finding a person based solely on a name really wasn’t easy.

”What’s the woman’s name? Tell me, and I’ll also keep an eye out. I’ll inform Qin Jian and friends in the public security to be on the lookout. If anyone with that name turns up, they’ll tell you immediately,” An Hao thought Lin Qiushu was a good person and a friend worth making.

After these few interactions, they had come to appreciate each other, sharing an indescribable bond.

An Hao decided to do her best to help Lin Qiushu.

”Really? That would be great!” Lin Qiushu was more than eager. With the attention and assistance of the public security, this would certainly smooth things out and save a lot of trouble, ”Her name is Jiu Xia. I heard she was fleeing with a child and was pregnant at the time.”

”Jiu Xia?” Upon hearing this, Zhang Yun murmured the name to herself.
