Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1420: Chapter 1420: It’s All Up to You Now

Qin Jian hurriedly warmed his icy hands in his bosom until they were no longer cold before taking the child in his arms.

Looking at his darling who seemed chubbier each day he saw her, Qin Jian kissed her forehead tenderly and said softly, ”Look at how Mom has been feeding you. You’re almost turning into a chubby little piggy.”

”How can you talk about a child like that? Calling a child a pig!” Zhang Yun, wielding a spatula, walked out of the kitchen again.

”I’m saying, can’t you just cook? Just cook properly!” Ning Yibin couldn’t help but speak out.

”It’s none of your business,” she said as she passed by, teasing Little Chenguang before heading back to the kitchen.

”Oh right, I have something to tell you.” Qin Jian gently rocked the child while speaking peacefully to An Hao, ”Tian Niu and Shuangshuang are getting married. The date’s been set, the eighth day of next month!”

”Shuangshuang told me too. She said that on her wedding day, she wants all of us to be there.”

”What’s your take on this?” Qin Jian sought An Hao’s opinion.

”Of course I want to go.” After all, Gu Shuangshuang was her friend, and their relationship was impeccable. Shuangshuang had always enthusiastically invited her to Tian Niu’s hometown, but considering the two children, An Hao hesitated, ”Chenyang and Chenguang have never been out before, and it’s the coldest season in the village right now. Taking two kids out, wouldn’t they suffer a bit?”

Zhang Yun came out with the meals: ”If Shuangshuang has invited you, you should go. Leave the two kids to me and your father.”

”But... the kids are still breastfeeding...”

”You’ll just go for one day. Just come back early.” Zhang Yun was quite fond of the child Gu Shuangshuang.

Furthermore, An Hao had been quite tired ever since her pregnancy. She also hoped her daughter-in-law could take this opportunity to relax her mind thoroughly.

And to give her son and daughter-in-law some space to be alone.

Since the in-laws had promised to take care of the children, An Hao had no concerns.

Mother-in-law Zhang Yun was a very attentive person, which perhaps had to do with caring for her adopted son with a heart condition since childhood.

She took care of the two children meticulously, even more diligently than An Hao.

”Mom, since you say so, then Qin Jian and I will go. It’s just that it will be tough on you and Dad.”

”It won’t be tough. We get re-energized just seeing these two little ones.”

After all, they were only going for a day. On the day of departure, An Hao didn’t pack much luggage, just two sets of daily necessities.

After hours of jolting, the car finally arrived at Tian Family’s village.

Before even entering the village, the lively sound of firecrackers could be heard coming from the streets and alleys.

”Village weddings are just so lively,” An Hao couldn’t help but remark.

”It reminds me of our wedding. You were truly beautiful that day. I told myself then, having married such a wonderful wife, I must never let her be sad.”

”You’ve done it,” An Hao smiled. ”I’m quite happy.”

Qin Jian looked down at her cheeks, reddened by the cold wind, and smiled too, his lips curling up.

As the couple approached the entrance to the Tian home, they could hear an uproar inside.

Two groups of warriors were singing.

Here choruses of brothers and there little sisters, one would think they’ve walked into the wrong place if they didn’t know any better.

Qin Jian firmly held An Hao’s hand as they walked in.

The warriors were all there, standing in neat rows saluting Qin Jian.

Qin Jian saluted back, and spoke with fervor, ”Comrades, today Battalion Commander Tian is getting a wife. Whether he can smoothly marry this bride depends entirely on you.”
