Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1441: Chapter 1441: Recorded as a Disgrace in Dark History

It was clear that the news of the patient’s awakening had spread throughout the entire hospital.

Moreover, everyone had already begun to believe that An Hao was innocent! Her arrival was the best proof!

An Hao smiled and responded to everyone one by one.

She walked straight to Yan Ye’s office door and knocked, but there was no movement inside for a long time.

”Director Yan has a surgery this afternoon, he’s already in the middle of the operation! Dr. An, why don’t you wait in the duty room?” the cardiac nurse came over and said to An Hao.

”All right. Thank you.” An Hao thanked the nurse and then turned to leave.

Since Yan Ye was not there, she decided to go to General Surgery.

It had been more than a year since she last saw Ji Chuan, and she had no idea how he was doing now.

An Hao walked through the corridor, about to go downstairs, but ran into Ma Mei who was coming upstairs.

Upon seeing each other, both were momentarily stunned.

An Hao quietly looked at her, a smile slowly spreading across her lips, ”Dr. Ma, it’s been a long time! Seeing you today, I feel an excitement I’ve never felt before! Do you know? Over this past year, I’ve never longed to see you as much as I do today.”

Ma Mei naturally knew that the patient had awakened, having just come from that ward.

She had stealthily checked on the patient, who had only just regained consciousness. His long sleep had caused him to forget many things.

But as a doctor, she knew it was only a matter of time.

Indeed, the truth, no matter how hidden, would eventually surface.

”An Hao, shall we talk?” Ma Mei’s demeanor was no longer as arrogant as it was when An Hao was wrongfully accused, showing instead a defeated state of mind.

”Talk? What is there to talk about?” An Hao’s smile turned cold, ”For a year, I waited for you to talk to me, and now that the patient is waking up, you want to talk. I want to ask you, are you feeling guilty? Scared? Can you face the consequences?”

Yes!

Ma Mei indeed could no longer bear it, watching the patient’s condition improve daily, then awaken, thinking about An Hao exposing her past mistakes in front of everyone, caused her face to throb with pain.

Having worked at this hospital for so many years, although she wasn’t respected by everyone, she was still a veteran, having served the hospital for the better part of her life.

The hospital had also awarded her honors and rewards.

Today, if not today, perhaps tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow, she would be expelled from the hospital and face military sanctions!

What pained her and was utterly unacceptable was that she would go down in the attached hospital’s history as a disgrace.

”An Hao! Do you have to ruin me yourself to be satisfied?” Ma Mei, although phrasing it as a question, no longer spoke so forcefully, and even held a hint of pleading for mercy.

An Hao’s cool gaze rested on her, and after a long time, she slowly opened her mouth and said, ”If I don’t destroy you, you would mercilessly destroy me!”

For the whole past year, she clearly could have stepped forward, admitted her mistakes, and apologized to her.

But she did not do so!

She still harbored the hope of getting lucky!

Still thinking that maybe the patient wouldn’t wake up.
