Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1248: Chapter 1247 Be Kind and Generous

In the deep of the night, when everything was quiet, Li Junping suffered from insomnia, and after contemplating for a long time, she decided to pay a visit to the Ning Family.

She couldn’t believe that after she had made the effort to come to their doorstep, the Ning Family could be so thick-skinned as to not return the bracelet to her.

As long as she retrieved the bracelet, she could sell it for a large sum of money, and the Qin Family wouldn’t have to worry about their livelihood ever again.

Early the next day, she caught two chickens from her own henhouse and took a bag of rice from the rice bin, and while Qin Ru Hai was still asleep, she quietly took a ride to the city.

She had previously asked Qin Fen for the address, so she directly took a ride to the military compound.

But as soon as she arrived at the gate, she was stopped by the sentinel.

She explained to the sentinel for a long time, claiming to be a relative of Commander Ning’s family.

The sentinel didn’t dare make decisions on his own, so he made a phone call to the Commander’s house.

It just so happened that early in the morning, everyone had gone out, An Hao had gone to visit Yan Huan’s house, Qin Jian and Ning Yibin had both gone to the military unit, leaving only Zhang Yun at home.

The house phone rang, and she picked it up; it was a call from the gate sentinel.

The sentinel said that there was someone who claimed to be a relative of the Ning Family, carrying two chickens and a bag of millet, wanting to visit An Hao.

Zhang Yun asked him who the other person was!

The sentinel’s gaze turned towards Li Junping and asked for her name; afraid that Zhang Yun wouldn’t let her in, Li Junping quickly concocted a name, spinning her eyes and reporting the name of An Hao’s father: ”An Shuchao.”

Upon hearing that it was not her father-in-law coming, Zhang Yun hurriedly instructed the sentinel to let the person in.

Since it was the father-in-law who had come, Zhang Yun had to call An Hao back, so she made a phone call to the Yan Family.

It turned out Feng Yuzhi answered the call, informing her that Yan Huan had taken An Hao for a stroll in the compound.

When An Hao returned home, she would let me go directly back to my own place.

After hanging up, Zhang Yun started preparing tea, pouring water, and washing fruits in the house, waiting to host her father-in-law.

It didn’t take long for a knock on the door to be heard from the outside.

Zhang Yun opened the door with a smile, but when she saw that the person standing outside was Li Junping, she became somewhat puzzled.

She stuck her head out of the door, looking to the east and west for quite a while, but didn’t see the figure of An Shuchao.

Li Junping said with a smile, ”Qin Jian’s mother, don’t look anymore, An Shuchao didn’t come.”

Hearing her say this, Zhang Yun’s smile suddenly turned cold, ”If you’ve come, why did you use someone else’s name?”

Li Junping chuckled awkwardly, ”I was just afraid you wouldn’t let me in, so I had no choice but to say that.”

”So you’re blaming me now?” Zhang Yun gave her a look that was neither smiling nor angry.

”No, I didn’t mean that,” Li Junping quickly explained, seeing that Zhang Yun was not pleased, ”Our families had a bit of a... so I was afraid you were still holding grudges, unable to get over that hurdle.”

Zhang Yun didn’t want to mention the incident from thirty years ago.

”Tell me, what is it that you’ve come here for?”

”Aren’t you inviting me to sit down?” Li Junping patted her own legs and said with a smile, ”Look, I’ve walked all the way here, and my legs aren’t in the best condition...”

”Enough, don’t keep talking.” Zhang Yun stepped aside to make way at the entrance, ”Since you’ve come, there’s no reason not to let you in. If word got out, it would make my home look inhospitable.”

Li Junping got her wish and entered the house, setting her chickens and millet on the ground, and then said to Zhang Yun, ”I heard that An Hao was pregnant, so I specially came to check on her.”

Zhang Yun let out a cold laugh, ”Enough, stop pretending, just speak your mind.”
