Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1203: Chapter 1203 Blood, bleeding.

”Okay.” Ma Mei agreed readily.

She had witnessed An Hao’s skills, so she was very confident in having her as an assistant.

Moreover, An Hao had been interning in general surgery for so long, and with Ji Chuan as her mentor, she believed An Hao’s skills would not be lacking.

”Then let’s proceed with the surgery right away,” the hospital director said.

The patient was wheeled towards the cardiothoracic surgery operation room, Ma Mei went upstairs to prepare for the surgery, and An Hao went to change her clothes. She then said to Qin Jian standing in the hallway, ”Wait for me! I’ll be out in at most two hours.”

”Hmm. Go ahead! Don’t rush! Be careful and steady during the surgery! I won’t leave, I will wait for you the whole time,” Qin Jian instructed.

An Hao went upstairs and, after disinfecting herself, entered the operating room.

Ma Mei, standing opposite her, asked, ”Can you do it?”

An Hao nodded confidently, ”No problem!”

”Good, let’s start the surgery.”

The anesthesiologist began establishing intravenous access for anesthesia, and the consciousness of the patient started to blur and dissipate, quickly entering a state of dormancy. Although Ma Mei was not the best in the hospital, her many years of experience had made her very skilled as the lead surgeon.

During the surgery, whenever she needed An Hao’s assistance, she would directly speak out.

An Hao followed her instructions step by step, perfectly completing the surgery.

”Check for bleeding,” Ma Mei said.

”The bleeding is normal, we can close the abdomen,” An Hao said after observing and looked up at Ma Mei.

She nodded, ”Okay, you close the abdomen.”

An Hao successfully completed the abdominal closure and suturing, and when she put down the surgical forceps, she quietly took a deep breath.

At that moment, she truly felt her energy was depleted, her hands trembling, legs quivering, and a dull pain emanating from her abdomen.

Noticing something was off, a nurse quickly asked, ”Are you alright, Dr. An?”

”Hmm. It’s nothing; I’m okay,” An Hao said, holding her abdomen.

”The patient’s eyes seem to have twitched a few times,” the nurse standing by the patient added.

Looking over, the anesthesiologist said, ”It’s fine; the surgery is complete, we can remove the anesthesia tube. Let’s wrap up, everyone.”

Ma Mei checked the monitoring equipment, which all showed normal signs.

So, she casually removed the anesthesia tube.

An Hao noticed the tape on the patient’s arm holding the IV was coming loose; she stepped forward to help re-secure it and then followed the rest out of the operating room.”

Seeing her come out, Qin Jian hurried over.

”How are you feeling? Your complexion looks very bad,” Qin Jian said with concern. ”Exhausted, huh? Come on, I’ll carry you downstairs.”

”Wait!” An Hao felt waves of heaviness and pain in her abdomen that seemed to be intensifying as something seemed to be flowing out of her body; ”I need to go to the restroom first.”

”What’s wrong?” Qin Jian asked, feeling a surge of anxiety and quickly followed her.

An Hao didn’t have time to answer him, rushed to the toilet, and looked down after pulling down her pants, only to see blood flowing out from inside her.

A wave of panic swept over her, ”Qin Jian... Qin Jian... come here quick!”

Hearing An Hao calling out, Qin Jian knew something was gravely wrong and barged into the restroom without caring whether it was for females or not. His head buzzed when he saw the blood on An Hao’s pants.

”I’m showing signs of a threatened miscarriage!” An Hao said with a sob in her voice.

”Don’t be scared! Put on your clothes; we’re going straight to the obstetrics and gynecology department,” Qin Jian insisted. He saw An Hao pulling up her pants, didn’t say another word, and carried her toward the ob-gyn department.
