Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1228: Chapter 1228: Don’t Flatter Yourself

”Cheng Yue...” Yan Huan muttered, ”why are you here?”

”He drank too much, kept mumbling about having to find you! I’ve brought the man to you! You deal with him now!” As he said this, Qin Jian released Cheng Yue, handed him over to Yan Huan, and then left.

Yan Huan hadn’t really expected to encounter Cheng Yue at this time and was genuinely surprised and a little delighted to hear that he insisted on finding her.

”Why did you drink so much? And staggering into my house in your drunken state, what matter did you want to find me for?”

”I have... I have something... to tell you...” Cheng Yue said, swaying as he stood there.

The commotion in the living room attracted the attention of the other family members.

Seeing it was Cheng Yue, Yan Luquan immediately perked up with laughter, ”Is that you, kid? Coming over so late at night, are you still thinking about playing chess with me?”

”Don’t flatter yourself,” Feng Yuzhi said, pinching her nose as she circled around Cheng Yue, ”Looks like you drank too much, huh? Can’t even stand up straight. Why not go back to your own school to sleep? What brings you to our home?”

”Why did you all rush over here?” Yan Huan glared at her parents and gestured with her hand, ”Go back to your own rooms, quickly.”

Feng Yuzhi sensed something off about Yan Huan’s expression, ”What’s gotten into you today? Why do you transform into someone else at the sight of this guy?”

”What? ’This guy, that guy’?” Yan Huan said discontentedly, ”He has a name, it’s Cheng Yue! And another thing, stop saying I’ve taken the wrong medicine every time something happens, is that how you talk about your daughter?”

”Can’t I even talk about you now?”

”If you can’t talk properly then don’t. And don’t ask! Quickly go back to your nests,” Yan Huan politely urged her parents away.

”It’s not just your home either, why should we leave? We’re staying right here in the living room,” Feng Yuzhi was determined to see just what Yan Huan was hiding.

She always felt that there seemed to be something going on between Yan Huan and Cheng Yue.

”If you won’t leave, we’ll go,” I said and then took Cheng Yue by the hand toward Yan Ye’s room.

”You can’t go,” Feng Yuzhi quickly stepped forward to block them, ”Tell me what’s going on clearly before you leave.”

”Can you not gossip for now? I know what you want to ask; how about you let me handle things first and then I’ll tell you everything, deal?” Yan Huan was a bit impatient.

She really wanted to hear what Cheng Yue had to say to her tonight, but because these two older folks wouldn’t leave, she felt embarrassed to proceed.

”Yan Huan... it’s okay to talk about it here! After all, you are all family, it wouldn’t be a problem for your uncle and aunt to listen,” Cheng Yue slurred.

While they were talking, the front door clicked open, and Yan Ye returned from the hospital, seeing everyone standing in the living room.

And Cheng Yue was there too, reeking of alcohol, his whole body like a boneless frame, leaning on Yan Huan.

”What’s the situation here?” Yan Ye couldn’t help asking, ”Why has he come? Did you guys drink tonight?”

”No, he came here drunk, claiming he was looking for Yan Huan! We’re just curious, too? All wanting to know what they have to say! And now your heartless little sister is trying to kick us out!!” Feng Yuzhi complained to Yan Ye about her sister’s misdeeds.

”Why are you butting in on their private conversation? When it’s time for you to know, you’ll naturally be informed,” Yan Ye said with a smile.

”Private conversation?” Feng Yuzhi looked incredulously at Yan Huan and murmured, ”Could this girl really be touched by the star of romance?”
