Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1230: Chapter 1330: Getting Jealous

Yan Huan helped Cheng Yue out the door, propped him up, and called for Yan Ye to come and assist.

Not bothering to clean the filth off himself, Yan Ye emerged from the house carrying a basin full of water, ”Make sure you hold him steady!”

No sooner had he spoken than he lifted the basin and doused Cheng Yue with a splash.

Cheng Yue shuddered violently, drenched to the core, ”Cold!”

”Brother, grab him and get him a bath! Change his clothes! I’ll clean up here,” Yan Huan handed Cheng Yue over to Yan Ye and began to tidy up the mess at the doorway. After cleaning it up, she proceeded to the living room, removed the sofa cover to soak it, and cleaned up the mess on the floor, squatting down and wiping and washing with a cloth, toiling away for quite a while.

”Are you really not going to help? Can you bear to watch your daughter get tired all by herself?” Yan Luquan couldn’t stand it any longer, poking Feng Yuzhi to urge her to help.

”Stop poking me!” Feng Yuzhi slapped his hand away and turned to look at him, ”When have you ever seen Huanhuan do household chores? When have you ever seen her this diligent? I have really learned something new! All the hardships I’ve gone through in my life have been for her sake, and now some damn boy has swept her off her feet! Just look at how she was just now... Tsk, I can’t even scold her for it.”

”Have you had enough?” Yan Luquan looked at Feng Yuzhi, unable to resist criticizing her, ”Before our daughter had a boyfriend, you kept pushing and hurrying her day and night, always pushing! Now that our daughter finally has someone she likes, look at you getting jealous! I really don’t know what goes on in your mind all day.”

After being so addressed by Yan Luquan, Feng Yuzhi realized that indeed she was acting like this, ”Ah, you’re absolutely right, Yan. What’s gotten into me? Shouldn’t I be happy for my daughter?”

”Who knows what wind has gotten into you?” said Yan Luquan.

”I think, I must be uneasy seeing my girl taking care of some damn boy like this. It should be him taking care of my girl!” Feng Yuzhi reflected.

Yan Ye dragged Cheng Yue to the bathroom, stripped him, gave him a quick rinse, then wrapped him in a towel and carried him out, depositing him in his own room.

After taking a shower himself and ensuring everything was tidy, Yan Huan also finished cleaning up everywhere.

Rubbing her sore back, she said to Yan Ye, ”Brother, you’ll have to take care of Cheng Yue tonight.”

”Don’t worry,” Yan Ye reassured her, ”I’ll make sure he’s taken care of.”

”What do you mean by taking care of him for me?” Yan Huan muttered under her breath.

”Isn’t that the case?” Yan Ye smiled at his sister, giving her a thumbs-up, ”I actually admire you, claiming you wanted to snag a Little Nencao, and you really did it.”

Yan Huan gazed at Yan Ye solemnly and asked, ”Do you think he and I are a good match? Is there a chance for us?”

”The truth or a lie?” Yan Ye asked.

”Of course the truth.”

”I can’t tell if you’re suited, but Cheng Yue is a good kid! If you like him, just tell him and love him passionately! Don’t wait until it’s too late and then live with regret,” Yan Ye sincerely advised.

”Brother, what about you? Do you regret not having made an effort back then?” Yan Huan inquired.

”No regrets! She already had someone she liked. I knew that even if I tried it would have been in vain! I didn’t want to meddle in their relationship,” he thought of how things might have been with An Hao if he had met her at the same time as Qin Jian.

If she hadn’t already had someone she liked, he would have definitely tried, but now it was not possible, nor would it be in the future.

”Brother, you deserve a better woman.”
