Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1207: Chapter 1207: You Are a Fortunate Person

”Sister-in-law, from now on you really should come and keep An Hao company more often.” Especially during this period, An Hao needs to stay in bed and rest, and we can’t let our parents find out. Therefore, someone must be there to help and take care of her.

Zhang Lanxiang readily agreed, ”Don’t worry, with your sister-in-law here, An Hao will definitely be well taken care of.”

Qin Jian was very grateful, ”Thank you, sister-in-law. I think I still need to explain what happened just now to you.”

”There’s no need to explain.” Zhang Lanxiang had been through similar experiences. She might not have noticed when she first walked in, but after listening to the conversation between Qin Jian and An Hao, she had guessed a little, ”Is it that you’re not feeling well?”

”Yes. After performing surgeries all night in the hospital, signs of miscarriage appeared.” Qin Jian’s dark eyebrows furrowed, ”We can’t tell my parents about this. An Hao is worried that it would startle my father, who has a bad heart, so we’ll need to trouble you to take extra care of her during this time.”

”Why work so hard?” Zhang Lanxiang let out a sigh, ”There are so many doctors in the hospital, can’t they manage without her? This child is one you both had such a hard time conceiving...”

”You know about the accident, the building collapse caused severe injuries and casualties, and the injured kept flooding in. Every hospital is operating at full capacity, even beyond their limits.” Qin Jian could imagine the scene at that time.

A patient was just transported out before another was immediately brought in.

The doctors inside couldn’t even catch their breath, let alone rest.

This was a struggle against death. Being one second late might mean the loss of a fresh life.

As a mother, An Hao naturally didn’t want anything to happen to the child in her womb, but she had been forced into such a situation and had no other choice.

She could only follow her leaders’ every step forward.

”I understand what you mean. The professions of soldiers and doctors are quite special, and from the beginning, they are entrusted with noble ideals. Therefore, the choices they make are different from ordinary people...” As a military wife herself, Zhang Lanxiang deeply understood this.

”It’s good that you understand, sister-in-law. We’ll be counting on you in the days to come...”

”What trouble? I’m more than willing to look after An Hao.” Zhang Lanxiang spoke as she pushed the trolley out, ”You go ahead, I’ll take care of the house, you can be a thousand times at ease.”

”Okay.” Qin Jian bid farewell to Zhang Lanxiang, then turned back to say a word to An Hao before heading to the military base.

”Come in and sit, I can’t sleep anyway, let’s chat.” An Hao suddenly felt idle and a bit bored alone, so it was nice to have Zhang Lanxiang there to talk to her.

Zhang Lanxiang walked in, sat beside her bed, and, holding An Hao’s hand with concern, asked, ”How are you feeling now?”

”Much better.”

”That’s good.” She gently touched An Hao’s belly through the blanket and said, ”An Hao, you are a fortunate person. The child will definitely be okay. Just remember, never work yourself so hard again. You are not alone now; you’re the mother of two children.”

”I know. As soon as I started the surgery, I forgot everything else and didn’t feel any discomfort in my belly at all. And it happened under those circumstances, so that’s why...” An Hao felt very fortunate that nothing serious had happened.

Otherwise, she truly didn’t know How she would explain things to Qin Jian and her in-laws.

It would have been too unfair to the two children in her womb.
