Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1213: Chapter 1213: The question I’m about to ask next is very important!

”You’re awake? Come on, sit up and have some chicken soup! I made it with red dates and goji berries, it’s very nourishing for the body. In the past, after giving birth, women would exclusively drink chicken soup made from old hens, which is incredibly nutritious,” Zhang Lanxiang said as she poured a big bowl full of chicken soup from the thermos and brought it to An Hao’s bedside.

”Sister-in-law, I really don’t know what to say to express my gratitude.” An Hao had never expected that Zhang Lanxiang would have stayed with her the entire day, and even made her chicken soup while she slept.

She had done so many things for her!

”If you don’t know what to say, then don’t say anything. Come on, drink more chicken soup, replenish your nutrients, and let the two little ones grow up white and plump! Smart and strong!” Zhang Lanxiang said smilingly as she watched An Hao.

”Okay.” An Hao didn’t use a spoon and just picked up the bowl to drink, gulping it down until she hit bottom.

”How does it taste?”

”Delicious.”

”Another bowl?”

”Okay.”

An Hao hadn’t eaten anything all day and was really starving, the chicken soup was stewed perfectly, and it tasted incredibly fresh. The rich flavor was lingering and endless, a taste to savor.

Zhang Lanxiang handed her another bowl, which An Hao drank more slowly, more carefully savoring the flavor of the soup.

After two bowls, she had broken out in a sweat, and her complexion turned faintly rosy.

”Take your medicine.” Zhang Lanxiang brought over the medicine and a glass of water for An Hao.

Qin Jian had specifically reminded her of this before he left.

An Hao obediently swallowed the medicine and lay back down.

After resting for the whole day, she felt much more spirited, and the heavy feeling in her abdomen had disappeared, it seemed the medicine had taken effect.

”Sister-in-law, I really can’t thank you enough for doing so much for me,” An Hao sincerely said, ”My mother passed away early, and my stepmother treated me very badly, life was simply unbearable. Later, I married Qin Jian, met a good mother-in-law, and then sister-in-law you, you’ve both been like mothers to me...”

An Hao’s eyes rimmed red, meeting such a good military spouse was her good fortune.

”This is just giving back kindness for kindness. My son’s life was saved by Qin Jian, he has done our family a great deed, both your brother Zhang and I can’t forget about it. Helping you like this is just a small favor, and look how moved you are...” Zhang Lanxiang said laughing as she took An Hao’s hand, ”From now on, we’ll be living together, you just say the word if you need anything, we’re all family here.”

”Mhm.” An Hao nodded emphatically.

As the two of them were talking, the sound of the door lock turned, and Qin Jian had returned.

Upon entering, he immediately noticed that An Hao’s complexion had improved a lot: ”Sister-in-law has taken good care of you.”

”Mhm. With sister-in-law here, you can be at ease,” An Hao said.

Qin Jian nodded, then said to the two people standing in the living room, ”Please come in! An Hao can’t move around at will, the doctor said she must rest properly.”

At that moment, Ji Chuan and Yan Ye both walked in.

”Director Ji, Teacher Yan, why have you both come?” An Hao exclaimed in surprise.

”We came to see how you are and to ask you about something!” Ji Chuan explained their purpose.

”I’m fine. I just need to rest for a while now...” An Hao said somewhat helplessly.

”This is all my fault, I got busy and neglected your situation...” Ji Chuan couldn’t help but blame himself, for even a grown man would be tired after standing for so long, let alone a pregnant woman.

”It’s all right. Everyone sit down. Qin Jian, go make some tea...”

”No need. We’ll ask a few questions and leave, but you must think carefully and answer truthfully because what I am about to ask is very important,” Yan Ye said seriously.
