Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 1231: Chapter 1331: The Beating of New Life

Ning Family.

The night had gradually deepened, and An Hao was tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep.

After taking a shower, Qin Jian came out of the bathroom and saw An Hao looking anxious. He casually threw the towel aside and sat beside her, ”What’s the matter, weren’t you already tired? Why are you still tossing and turning? Are you still thinking about what happened today?”

”Yeah.” An Hao grabbed his hand and gently placed it beside her face, ”I’m thinking, should I tell my parents about this? Also, if this matter isn’t clarified, what will happen to my internship in senior year?”

”Didn’t Ji Chuan say he would help you investigate? He will definitely clear your name; you should trust him!” Qin Jian said gently, caressing her face.

”How can it be that easy? Unless Ma Mei herself confesses, everything else is ineffectual! Getting Ma Mei to speak is truly an added difficulty...” The more An Hao thought about it, the worse she felt.

The normally smooth internship had unexpectedly hit a snag because of Ma Mei.

”What I mean is, you can occasionally pay attention to this matter. Right now, what you should focus on most is...” Qin Jian pointed at An Hao’s belly, ”these two little ones.”

”Yeah.” An Hao smiled, turned over to sit up from the bed, and raised her hand to touch her now slightly protruding belly, ”I guess these two little ones must be about the size of an apple by now?”

”I’ve heard from the elderly that children in the womb can feel their mother’s emotions. If you don’t want our children to share in your sadness, you should cheer up,” Qin Jian said, then lowered his head and kissed An Hao’s abdomen through her thin clothes.

With that one kiss, Qin Jian suddenly paused.

”What’s wrong?” An Hao, seeing him maintain such a posture without moving for a long time, grew curious.

”I think I felt them move inside,” Qin Jian said excitedly.

”How can that be? Wouldn’t movement start at least at four months?” Besides, if there were movements, how could she not feel them?

”It’s really there!” Qin Jian took her hand and gently covered her lower abdomen, ”Feel it carefully...”

An Hao concentrated, feeling for a while, but didn’t feel anything, ”Where? Are you hallucinating?”

”Impossible!” Qin Jian spoke gently through An Hao’s belly to the babies inside, ”Little ones, if you’re tired, stretch your arms and kick your legs! Let mommy feel your presence?”

As soon as his words fell, An Hao clearly felt her belly twitch twice.

A strange feeling gradually spread from the bottom of her heart—was it joy? Was it emotion?

An Hao couldn’t exactly say, only that she felt like laughing uncontrollably but paradoxically felt like crying too, ”Really! They moved, I really felt it!”

Seeing An Hao smiling with tears in her eyes, Qin Jian also smiled. He gently stood up, embraced her in his arms, and kissed her forehead lightly, ”For our children, let’s be happy...”

”Yes, yes.” An Hao nodded earnestly, ”Don’t worry, I definitely will.”

”Good! Sleep now!” Qin Jian got into bed, pulled An Hao into his arms, smelled her scent, and closed his eyes.

The next day, early in the morning.

A roar burst from Yan Ye’s bedroom, nearly lifting the roof off, and woke all the members of the Yan Family with its thunderous sound.
