Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 994: Chapter 994: The Worst Case Scenario

”Sis! Are you okay? Sis!” Cheng Yue was terrified by her.

”Cheng Yu!” Both Li Zhi and Zhang Chaoqian were scared out of their wits, their expressions as if they had just witnessed a crime scene.

”It hurts! It’s killing me! My head hurts so much! Yuyu, save me! Get the bullet out! I don’t want to die!” Cheng Yu felt like her head was splitting open and stumbled towards the wall in agony.

Fright covered Cheng Yue in a cold sweat as he rushed over and tightly embraced Cheng Yu, before striking her neck fiercely with his hand.

Immediately afterwards, everything went black before her eyes, and Cheng Yu collapsed.

”Have you two lost your minds? Call someone! Call for emergency services now.” Cheng Yue shouted at the two people who stood there dumbfounded.

..................

In the hospital, inside a ward.

Cheng Yu lay quietly on the hospital bed, her black hair spread across the pillow, her pale face devoid of any color.

Even so, it didn’t detract from her beauty, resembling a silently blooming white lily.

”Cheng Yue, you think Cheng Yu will be okay, right?” Li Zhi said, his heart in a knot, ”I can’t even dare to imagine what I just saw.”

”Li Zhi, stop talking,” Zhang Chaoqian cut him off, giving him a meaningful look.

Cheng Yue sat beside the bed, looking at Cheng Yu with eyes filled with sorrow!

Li Zhi nodded, quieting down and sitting silently beside Cheng Yue, waiting for the doctor’s diagnosis.

The door opened, and a doctor walked in.

”Who is the patient’s family member?”

”I am,” Cheng Yue stood up.

”Okay, come with me. There are some things I need to discuss with you,” the doctor said.

Cheng Yue nodded and followed him out, already feeling a sinister premonition.

”We’ve looked at the x-rays. The bullet in her brain has started to shift. Is she often experiencing blurred vision now?”

”Yes.”

”That means it’s beginning to press on the optic nerve.”

”So, is there no way to get the bullet out of her brain? Is there any way?” Cheng Yue was most concerned about this; compared to her eyesight, her life was more important.

”I don’t know. If we operate, the difficulty is still very high! And the risk of surgery is also very great. Moreover, we’ve discovered an even worse situation,” the doctor continued.

The words from the doctor made Cheng Yue’s heart tremble fiercely, ”What situation?”

”Her mental state is also an issue. It appears she has developed depression! She will need long-term medication to control the condition!”

”What’s depression?” Cheng Yu didn’t have a clear understanding of mental illness.

”It can cause hallucinations, mood irritability, and despondency. Some people may self-harm or attempt suicide! Some may become aggressive towards others! Unfortunately, her condition belongs to the second category! As her relatives, you need to observe her closely and learn to protect yourselves,” the doctor explained before preparing to leave.

Cheng Yue called after him once more, ”I heard that Central Hospital has imported a sophisticated instrument that may be used for some difficult operations... Could you possibly consult with Central Hospital to see...”

”That instrument is not meant for brain surgery, I’m sorry! We’ve already consulted on this matter. Any other questions?” the doctor inquired.

Cheng Yue shook his head, ”No more questions.”

The doctor left, and Cheng Yue leaned against the wall outside the ward, his spirits plunging to the depths.

”How is it?” Li Zhi came out of the ward and asked.

”It’s very bad.”

”What do we do now?”
