Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 972: Chapter 972 Tricking Her Together

”My thesis has always been kept either in the research group’s office or in my dorm, and nobody has ever rummaged through it.”

”Did Lei Linxuan know where you kept your thesis?” Yan Ye asked.

”She shouldn’t have known. I never told Lei Linxuan.” Lei Linxuan never mentioned wanting to see her thesis, especially since both of their topics were the same; naturally, they wanted to avoid similarities. Thus, Lei Linxuan also never revealed to An Hao what her writing direction was.

”That’s strange then... Are you saying that she plagiarized your thesis without you noticing at all?”

”Teacher Yan, you’ve also looked at the content, haven’t you? Tell me, is this plagiarism or not?” An Hao turned her gaze towards Yan Ye and asked.

”It is plagiarism. Ninety percent of your content has been plagiarized,” Yan Ye confirmed An Hao’s assertion.

”What should I do then? Should I just go and confront Lei Linxuan?” An Hao was full of rage, utterly unsettled at this moment, barely able to resist the urge to charge at Lei Linxuan and demand an explanation for her actions.

Where had she gone wrong to deserve such treatment from Lei Linxuan?

”Since she dared to plagiarize your work, even if you confront her, she might not necessarily admit to it,” Yan Ye said with a furrowed brow, ”Everyone knows she plagiarized your thesis, but she published it first and it has already been published. No one will believe you just based on your claim, unless you have the draft and original data to prove it.”

”I have the draft! But the original data... Lei Linxuan and I looked up the surgical data together; that’s something we once shared. I have it, and so does she!” An Hao said anxiously, ”The last time I revised the draft, I made some adjustments to the data, but she stole a version of my draft from earlier.”

”That’s exactly the most troublesome and difficult part,” Yan Ye said with a frown, ”Regarding the draft, it’s something that could be modified at any time. That doesn’t count, as Lei Linxuan, just like you, is working on a thesis.”

”So what do I do? Just accept it?” An Hao felt indignant.

Calling it plagiarism was putting it mildly; this was a case of someone copying her entire thesis.

The thesis was created through countless nights, combing through endless data and resources. Could she just let her hard work be claimed by another through theft?

”Unless she is willing to come forward and admit it herself. That would be the best solution,” Yan Ye thought for a moment and said, ”Another way is to file a complaint. I will arrange that! As for you, strive to get Lei Linxuan to confess the truth herself.”

”I’ll go talk to her. I really want to ask her why she would do this to me.” An Hao slammed her water cup down and stood up, ready to leave.

”I support you! But before you go handle this, cool down first, don’t make a mess,” Yan Ye said with concern.

An Hao returned to her dorm, pushed the door open, and saw everyone dressed and ready to go out for a meal with Lei Linxuan.

”An Hao, you’re back! Come on, let’s go together! Whatever you want to eat at noon today, I’ll treat!” Lei Linxuan enthusiastically took An Hao by the arm and started heading out.

”I won’t be joining,” An Hao declined her invitation, ”Lin Xuan, wait a minute before you go, I have something to tell you.”
