Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 958: Chapter 958: Outsmarting Oneself

”Okay, it’s settled. After she graduates, she’ll stay at the affiliated hospital,” Yan Ye had already decided An Hao’s future for her.

Zhang Juan, who originally wanted to drive An Hao away, now found her scheme backfiring, as the last available spot in cardiothoracic surgery was completely gone.

No, she had to think of a way.

She certainly had to secure that spot for Ruan Fangfang.

.....................

Ever since Yan Ye’s suggestion, An Hao had started to prepare her thesis. She admitted that it was difficult for her, but she believed that if she put her heart into it, she could definitely do it.

During this time, she attended classes and interned during the day, and worked on her thesis at night.

Whenever she didn’t understand something, she would discuss it with Yan Ye, and it already basically took shape. However, Lei Linxuan seemed to have some difficulties and had sought Yan Ye several times, but apparently, with her current level, she still couldn’t quite grasp it.

She could only proceed slowly.

After a tiresome week, she finally made it to the weekend.

An Hao could finally relax, and she had decided not to go home this weekend, planning to write her thesis in the dormitory, as it was close to the faculty building, allowing her to consult Yan Ye at any time.

Without the morning bugle or exercises on the weekend, she allowed herself a lazy morning in bed, then got up, washed up, and got ready to buy food from the cafeteria.

Lei Linxuan also got up, ”Wait for me; I’ll go with you. After eating, I want to discuss my thesis with Professor Yan. Are you coming?”

”Let’s go. Let’s head down together. We’ll bring back breakfast for those still sound asleep, the ’little lazy pigs’.”

An Hao and Lei Linxuan went to the cafeteria for breakfast and were about to head back with food for Gu Shuangshuang and Zhang Juan when Lei Linxuan suddenly stopped An Hao, ”Look, is that person over there Professor Cheng?”

Upon hearing this, An Hao paused and looked in the direction of Lei Linxuan’s pointing finger.

Indeed, the person pulling a suitcase from afar was none other than Cheng Yu.

After more than three months, her figure had become much thinner, her face pale, and she looked like she had just recovered from a serious illness.

”Professor Cheng has really lost a lot of weight. It breaks my heart,” Lei Linxuan said with regret. ”In my eyes, Professor Cheng is like a goddess. I wonder what illness she had that has ravaged her to look like Lin Daiyu.”

An Hao didn’t offer her own opinion, simply saying, ”Let’s go.”

”Go? Aren’t we going to greet Professor Cheng?” Lei Linxuan asked in surprise. She felt that An Hao’s attitude today was not as warm as usual, and when she had heard that Professor Cheng was ill before, An Hao didn’t seem to have reacted much.

Even though Professor Cheng used to like An Hao very much, right?

”Let’s not. I need to deliver the food to Shuangshuang and Zhang Juan,” An Hao said, turning to leave.

”Hey! An Hao, what’s wrong?” Lei Linxuan grabbed An Hao’s wrist. ”Did you have a falling out with Professor Cheng?”

”No,” An Hao smiled. ”We just have different paths, that’s all.”

She couldn’t exactly tell everyone that Cheng Yu tried to seduce her husband, could she?

After all, the people she cared about already knew about Cheng Yu’s intentions. So, it didn’t matter whether the irrelevant ones knew or not.
