Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 979: Chapter 979: It’s Your Turn to Take Action

”I’ve seen you go to Cheng Yu more than once, and every time you came out of her dormitory building, you looked dejected. It’s painful, isn’t it? This proves that your conscience hasn’t been obliterated. Just say it, as long as you say her name, this matter will have nothing to do with you. You published the paper without knowing. There is some excuse for that.”

Lei Linxuan really admired An Hao, who, in just a few words, had already restored the truth of the matter.

These days had not been easy for her either.

Carrying honors that didn’t belong to her, a heavy cross was pressed upon her soul, and several times she had wanted to tell An Hao.

But each time, she suppressed the urge.

She dared not reveal the truth because she had discovered something truly terrifying.

When she wanted to tell An Hao, Cheng Yu found her.

And threatened her not to leak the matter, forcing her to keep her mouth shut and bear the burden with gritted teeth.

If she dared to reveal it, the consequences would certainly be unbearable for her.

Up to now, Lei Linxuan still couldn’t guess what the consequences Cheng Yu had mentioned would be.

But she didn’t dare to take any rash action.

”Don’t say anything else. I didn’t plagiarize! Nor will I admit to this! If you expect me to confess, I can only say you’re daydreaming! Unless you can produce decisive evidence, if you can convince others that I plagiarized, then you’ve won! Otherwise, I will never confess,” Lei Linxuan said defiantly to An Hao, then turned and walked out of the Pine Forest.

”What did I say?” Gu Shuangshuang appeared next to An Hao at some unknown time, ”She won’t admit it! It’s your move now, An Hao.”

”So be it! I have no choice!” She absolutely could not watch her accomplishments be plagiarized.

”What are you going to do, I’ll help you!” Gu Shuangshuang said.

”I can only create public pressure.”

Gu Shuangshuang thought for a moment, then patted her chest and said to An Hao, ”Don’t worry, leave it to me!”

”What do you plan to do?” An Hao asked.

”What else can I do? Of course, imitate what you did that year and post things on the school blackboard in the dark of night! Expose Lei Linxuan’s crimes!” At that time, all public opinion would naturally point to Lei Linxuan.

Under pressure, she would have to confess Cheng Yu to save herself.

”That’s one thing,” An Hao considered and said, ”the second is to let Cheng Yue know about this.”

”Do you think he’ll believe it?” Gu Shuangshuang was somewhat uncertain.

After all, Cheng Yu and Cheng Yue were siblings, and Cheng Yue had always been caring towards his sister Cheng Yu. Would he accept an outsider speaking ill of his sister?

Not to mention during the holiday, Gu Shuangshuang had seen Cheng Yue’s affection towards Cheng Yu.

”He will believe,” An Hao asserted confidently.

By the time Cheng Yue came to apologize on behalf of Cheng Yu, Cheng Yu’s image in Cheng Yue’s eyes had been destroyed.

He believed Cheng Yue was a boy with a sense of justice.

Maybe if he talked to Cheng Yu, he might change her mind.

...........................

That night, neither An Hao nor Gu Shuangshuang slept, and throughout the night, they copied the process of the plagiarism incident dozens of times. Taking advantage of the deep, quiet night, the two of them sneaked out of the dorm and pasted their papers one by one on a blackboard in front of the school canteen.

This blackboard was a place for passing on information; every day at mealtime, the school’s teachers and staff would pass by here and were accustomed to checking for any new content on the board.
