Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 975: Chapter 975: Shocking Discovery

On her way back, Lei Linxuan’s heart was actually a bit uneasy. How had the paper she published become a plagiarism of An Hao’s work?

At first, she truly believed that An Hao was just jealous of her.

But seeing An Hao speak so righteously, with raging flames burning in those dark eyes, she started to feel confused! An Hao wasn’t usually the type to pick fights without reason.

Why was she acting so out of character today?

Even though she felt uneasy, Lei Linxuan’s conscience was clear—she had not committed plagiarism. Her paper might not have been very good, but she had Cheng Yu to help her!

Cheng Yu also had a high level of proficiency. Although his academic credentials were not as high as those of Professor Yan, he explained things very clearly.

Lost in her thoughts, Lei Linxuan arrived at the dormitory in a blink.

”Show me your evidence!” she said to An Hao.

”I don’t need you to tell me to do so,” An Hao retorted as she took out her rejected paper and threw it in front of Lei Linxuan, ”See for yourself!”

Lei Linxuan looked at the first page of An Hao’s paper, then eagerly flipped to the second page, the third, all the way to the last. After reading it, she was also shocked.

Impossible! This can’t be possible!

How could it be over ninety percent similar?

Clearly, this paper, compared to the one she had previously published, was more comprehensive, and the data analysis was more convincing.

”You see?” An Hao said angrily, staring at Lei Linxuan, ”Explain this to me.”

Gu Shuangshuang, after reading it, was also astonished: ”What have you done? Could it be that you really plagiarized from An Hao’s work?”

”I did not! Not at all!” Lei Linxuan refused to admit it, ”Just because the content is the same, it means I copied from you? I could say you copied from me, would you dare to admit that?”

”Me, copy from you?” An Hao climbed to her upper bunk, pulled out all the papers she had written during this period—from the first developed draft to the current finished piece—and hurled them all at Lei Linxuan. ”Look for yourself! Take a good look!”

One after another, all the papers they had been marked and annotated by An Hao, including the one that Lei Linxuan had plagiarized.

An Hao jumped down from the bed and pulled out a copy: ”The one you published was the twenty-first revision I had made.”

After opening it, Lei Linxuan was so stunned by the content that she couldn’t utter a single word.

Seeing the expression on Lei Linxuan’s face, An Hao already had her answer, ”Tell me! Why did you plagiarize my paper? Why? And even rushed to publish it before me? What was your purpose!”

”I did not plagiarize! I didn’t do this! It wasn’t me! I refuse to admit it!”

”Where are your original drafts? Show me! I will only believe you after I see them!” An Hao said angrily.

”I didn’t plagiarize! How dare you accuse me without proof! I didn’t copy!” Lei Linxuan exclaimed, slamming a thick stack of materials on the table before dashing out of the dormitory.

”I’ll go after her!” Gu Shuangshuang said.

”No need to chase,” An Hao stopped Gu Shuangshuang.

”Why not?”

”From her expression, it seems she’s also shocked. If I’m not mistaken, she doesn’t even know she plagiarized.” If it wasn’t her, then who could it be?

It could only be Cheng Yu!

Cheng Yu was Lei Linxuan’s thesis advisor, so there was a high chance that it was his doing.
