Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 959: Chapter 959: Seeking Help

Seeing An Hao didn’t intend to elaborate on the situation, Lei Linxuan felt embarrassed to ask further.

However, being in the same research group, not greeting the teacher would still be improper.

Moreover, Teacher Cheng had always been kind to her. Although not as enthusiastic as with An Hao before, each time she sought help, Teacher Cheng gave the assistance she promised without fail.

”Since it’s like that, then go ahead,” Lei Linxuan said to An Hao. ”I’ll give Teacher Chen a shout, and then I’ll be up shortly after.”

So An Hao went upstairs, and Lei Linxuan hurried over to greet Cheng Yu, ”Teacher Cheng! You’ve finally returned! We heard you were sick and wouldn’t be back for half a year; we’ve all been very upset.”

Cheng Yu revealed her signature smile, ”One step on campus and I get to hear such heartwarming words, I’m very happy.”

”I’m speaking the truth,” Lei Linxuan patted her own chest, ”In my heart, Teacher Chen, you are a goddess!”

”Thank you for your compliment.”

”Oh, Teacher Chen, let me carry your suitcase for you. I’ll escort you back to the faculty building,” Lei Linxuan offered eagerly.

”Alright. That’d be much appreciated.”

Walking along, Cheng Yu asked Lei Linxuan about the situation at school.

”During my absence, how have you all been, anything new happen?”

”Nothing much new,” Lei Linxuan answered while walking, ”If anything, the fact that An Hao and I went to intern at the cardiac surgery department of the hospital, does that count?”

”Why start an internship so early?” Cheng Yu inquired.

”To learn more knowledge, graduate sooner. Also, for my own bright future,” Lei Linxuan spoke candidly.

After graduation, she really didn’t want to be sent to the grassroots level, where one could get stuck for a lifetime.

Being a student of Teacher Yan now gave her an advantage like ’the early bird catches the worm.’

If she performed well during the internship, it wasn’t impossible to be retained at the affiliated hospital.

”It’s good for young people to endure some hardships,” Cheng Yu agreed, ”Apply yourself during the internship, and strive to stay at the hospital after graduation, not to be sent to the grassroots level. Otherwise, you may truly lose the chance to hold a scalpel again.”

”Yes, that’s what I’m thinking,” Lei Linxuan said.

”If you encounter any problems during your studies, feel free to ask me,” Cheng Yu mentioned offhand.

”Teacher Cheng, don’t even mention it, I actually do have a problem right now.”

”What problem, tell me, let me hear it.”

Lei Linxuan thought for a moment, hesitated, and then spoke, ”Recently, An Hao and I have been preparing our theses. An Hao already has a rough outline, while I am having trouble. My mind is still a mess, and I can’t organize my thoughts.”

”Take it slow, no need to rush. Some things can’t be achieved overnight.” Writing a thesis is especially so, posing a thesis, searching for evidence to prove it.

It’s not an easy task.

Besides, the evidence isn’t easy to find, it requires practice and a lot of data for support.

”I went to seek guidance from Teacher Yan halfway through, and he also gave me coaching, but I seem to be quite lacking, not on the same level of knowledge, and it’s a bit difficult to understand,” Lei Linxuan said with a sense of defeat.

”Don’t lose heart. Next time if Teacher Yan can’t make you understand, you can come to me directly,” Cheng Yu said with a smile.

”Really?” Lei Linxuan’s eyes lit up, surprised that Teacher Cheng was so kind to her as well, ”That’s great. Next time I have a problem, I’ll definitely come to Teacher Cheng.”
