Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 387: Chapter 387: Put Your Heart Back in Your Belly

Seeing An Hao coming over with that playful little girl by her side, Tian Niu immediately brightened up, ”Sister-in-law is here! And Gu Shuangshuang...”

”Hello, Instructor Tian!” Gu Shuangshuang called out cheerily, surprised to encounter the hearty Instructor Tian Niu here, with his dark complexion, thick brows, and big eyes.

”Hello!” Tian Niu said, seeing the young girl smiling at him, his ears tinged slightly with heat, ”The gloves you gave me last time, I accepted them!”

Speaking of the gloves, Gu Shuangshuang’s face involuntarily flushed with embarrassment. Who knows where she got the confidence to give away such an ugly pair of gloves as a gift.

”Those gloves were too ugly. You can throw them away. When my knitting skills get better, I’ll make you a good-looking pair,” she said.

”This pair is quite good. If you want to give me another, I wouldn’t mind,” Tian Niu replied.

Hearing him use ”I” so frequently in his sentences, Gu Shuangshuang couldn’t help but want to laugh.

After listening to their pleasantries for a bit, An Hao couldn’t hold back any longer and interjected, ”Squad Leader Tian, I came here to ask if Qin Jian has been in the troops these past few days!”

”Sister-in-law, didn’t you know? Our battalion commander went on a mission the last couple of days,” Tian Niu said.

”A mission? What kind of mission?” An Hao was puzzled.

”It’s said to be a secret mission! Since it’s a secret mission, naturally, it’s something others shouldn’t know about.”

”Did he come back when he received the mission?”

Tian Niu shook his head, ”He hasn’t come back. With the military region’s grand competition going on these past few days, the battalion commander suddenly vanished. It was only after the political instructor called the higher-ups that we learned our battalion commander had gone on a mission out of the blue.”

An Hao felt that something was amiss, ”Squad Leader Tian, do you think this is normal?”

”It is a bit abnormal. But in the military, anything can happen. A couple of years ago, we suddenly got an order from the higher-ups and had to get up and leave in the middle of the night. So, it’s possible.”

Seeing An Hao’s intense anxiety, Tian Niu asked her, ”What’s going on, sister-in-law?”

An Hao described to Tian Niu how they had parted on the street that day.

”So, you’re worried about our battalion commander’s safety?”

”Mhm.” An Hao sighed deeply.

”You really don’t need to worry about that. Our battalion commander’s martial arts skills are among the top one or two in the entire Northern Military Region. You can be at ease! He can handle five experts with no issue, let alone a few petty thieves,” Tian Niu was not the least bit concerned about this issue.

”Really?”

”Of course. Sister-in-law, it seems you care about our battalion commander a lot! Put your mind at ease! In a few days, when our battalion commander returns from his mission, he’ll naturally come to find you. Don’t worry, I’ll definitely convey your fervent thoughts and care to him,” Tian Niu said with a grin.

”Yeah! An Hao, you just relax! Your darling is sure to be fine! You have to trust in him, and trust Instructor Tian too!” Gu Shuangshuang also comforted her from the side.

But even with that being said, An Hao still couldn’t help feeling uneasy.

This anxious, uneasy feeling lingered incessantly, and no matter what, she couldn’t calm down. Since the news came from Commander Zhang, she decided to seek him out.

If Commander Zhang couldn’t give her an answer, then she would go to the Ning family leaders. One way or another, she was determined to get some information.
