Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 369: Chapter 369: Truly My Progeny!

Ning Yibin really liked Qin Jian’s attitude, ”True to my own flesh and blood! That’s the kind of courage I’m talking about, whether in work or in love, one should have such dedication and bravery! You’re just like I was when I was younger. My old superior also set me up with many potential partners, but I only had eyes for your mother! Other women might as well have been invisible to me! My superior called me stubborn, but it was that very stubbornness that won me your mother.”

”Exactly! You father and son really speak the same language!” Zhang Yun, although rebutted by Qin Jian, was still happy inside. Her son had been raised by others for thirty years, but his temperament and nature were exactly like his father’s.

”Of course! We men are different from you women! You go picking and choosing when looking for a partner, comparing this and that. Do you think you’re shopping for cabbage at the market?” Ning Yibin said.

Zhang Yun knew he was still upset about something that happened years ago, ”Isn’t it just that I hesitated between you and Old Yan at the beginning? Look at your memory! Didn’t I still choose you in the end?”

”That’s because I was quite the sprightly young man!” Ning Yibin was still very pleased with his appearance.

”Young man? You’re an old fellow now! What I fell for back then was your bravery and masculine charm!”

”So, I was better than Old Yan, right? Otherwise, you wouldn’t have chosen me!”

Qin Jian watched the couple bicker with amusement and couldn’t help but laugh along.

In the past, from a distance, he saw the chief as a towering and majestic mountain, high and unattainable! Now that he was closer to him, he realized his father Ning Yibin was actually a very interesting person.

The atmosphere in the ward was joyous and harmonious.

Outside the ward, An Hao listened to Zhang Yun’s words and couldn’t help feeling a bit uneasy.

Zhang Yun was, after all, her future mother-in-law.

It seemed the mother-in-law thought she was too young!

At that moment, she handed the fruit she was carrying to the standing guard, ”Please give this to Chief Ning and wish him a speedy recovery!”

After speaking, she turned and walked away.

”You’ve already come; are you not going to visit?” The guard recognized An Hao and naturally knew she was the chief’s future daughter-in-law.

”No, just pass on a message for me,” An Hao said without looking back as she descended the stairs.

In the ward, things gradually quieted down. The guard knocked and entered, ”Reporting to the chief! Miss Qin’s girlfriend just brought some fruit.”

”Oh, the child is so thoughtful,” Zhang Yun quickly stood up, took the fruit from the guard, and casually asked, ”Where is she? You didn’t make her wait outside, did you? Let her in quickly!”

”She stood at the door for a while, unwilling to come in, left the things, and went away,” the guard replied.

Upon hearing this, Qin Jian stood up hastily, ”I’ll go see her!”

Hearing this, Ning Yibin immediately understood the crux of the problem and blamed Zhang Yun, ”It’s all your fault! She must have heard what you said outside the door and got upset! Now, you’ve certainly become the wicked mother-in-law who breaks up couples in the child’s heart.”

Zhang Yun became anxious when she heard this, ”Fine, blame me! All I want is for Qin Jian to settle down soon and have grandchildren! I didn’t mean anything else! The child is good, I do like her! Old Ning, you rest for a while. I’ll go down and join Qin Jian in chasing after An Hao. I must apologize to her face to face. We can’t let a misunderstanding between the kids happen because of me!”
