Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 374: Chapter 374: In Terms of Thick-skinned, I Admire Only You!

Yan Huan was talking while pouring water out of Qin Jian’s cup.

As she poured, she shook the bottle, but with one misstep, the bottle flew out and struck Jiang Ying, while the ink splattered all over the both of them.

Jiang Ying suddenly stood up, looking at Yan Huan with a mix of laughter and tears, ”Is this your way of getting back at me?”

Qin Jian looked at the ink stains on his brand new military uniform and couldn’t help frowning as well.

”No, no, no, no! It’s not! Definitely not retaliation!” Yan Huan hastily explained, ”An accident! This is absolutely an accident!”

The commotion they caused was so great that it alerted the Deputy Commander.

He turned his head to see his daughter up to some mischief, noticing her meddling with Qin Jian’s clothes.

”Commander Qin, I’m really sorry for the mess! You have to let me wash it for you,” Yan Huan said as she reached for his clothes.

Her actions were bold!

Qin Jian, being engaged, naturally didn’t want too much contact with Yan Huan.

As Yan Huan tried to remove his clothes, Qin Jian’s face turned stern, and he pursed his lips tightly, ”Comrade Yan Huan, I can handle this myself. Please be mindful of your words and actions!”

”What’s wrong with my words and actions? I dirtied your clothes; I must wash them! Otherwise, I’ll feel terrible! When I make a mistake, I have to make amends! You have to give me a chance!”

The Deputy Commander, seeing his daughter causing a scene out of place again, called out in a low voice, ”Yan Huan! Go clean Commander Qin’s clothes properly! Then return to your post!”

”Yes!”

With the order received, Yan Huan said to Qin Jian, ”The Commander has spoken, instructing me to clean your clothes! Obeying orders is a soldier’s duty! I must wash them for you!”

Qin Jian knew she would not rest until she fulfilled her aim.

In front of all the soldiers, Qin Jian didn’t want to escalate the issue, so he took off his clothes and handed them over to Yan Huan.

”Thanks a lot!” Yan Huan held Qin Jian’s clothes like a precious treasure, getting ready to wash them, when she heard Jiang Ying’s voice, ”Comrade Yan Huan, are you going to wash my clothes as well?”

Yan Huan heard it but pretended not to and walked away with the clothes directly.

After a day of competitive drills, Yan Huan went back to her dormitory, took a shower, and then started washing the soaked-through clothes.

Xiaomei came in and saw Yan Huan washing Qin Jian’s clothes, thumbs up in admiration, ”When it comes to thick skin, I salute only you!”

”Can you be full with a thin face?” Yan Huan snorted, ”Xiaomei, don’t forget your braised pork!”

”Fine. Then I’ll tighten my belt this month, waiting to treat you to braised pork.”

”You must,” Yan Huan said blissfully, ”Opportunities are prepared for people like me. You have to be clever in handling situations. Like me, see, I dirtied his clothes, and now I’m washing them for him. Later, when I return them, doesn’t that mean we’ve become familiar with each other through these exchanges?”

Xiaomei burst into giggles upon hearing this, almost choking on the apple she was eating.

”What are you laughing at?” Yan Huan glared at her.

Xiaomei coughed violently before saying, ”Haven’t you heard? To get close to Commander Qin, a female soldier from the cultural troupe pretended to feel dizzy in front of him, deliberately pouring on Qin Jian. She figured Commander Qin would have to help her out, right? Who would have thought Commander Qin really has a unique personality! He just wouldn’t help! He watched as the female comrade from the cultural troupe fell straight down in front of him, right at his feet.”
