Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 378: Chapter 378: Comrade Battalion Commander, Why Are You Nervous?

He rolled out of bed, wearing only a pair of long pants, without even a shirt on as he went to open the door.

The person standing at the door was none other than Yan Huan.

”Commander Qin, it’s rare to see you having a day off,” Yan Huan said, her gaze falling on Qin Jian’s upper body, looking at his robust muscles and honey-colored skin, feeling her cheeks grow somewhat warm.

In the army, she had seen plenty of male soldiers’ muscles.

Especially during the dog days of summer, those male soldiers would take off their tops to practice combat grappling under the scorching sun, sweat running down the lines of their muscles, their skin tanned and glistening.

In her eyes, those male soldiers were like impenetrable walls, which she never liked.

But upon seeing Qin Jian, she inexplicably felt her face flush and her heart race.

It wasn’t for any other reason than because he was Qin Jian.

Seeing Yan Huan’s gaze fixed on his chest, Qin Jian’s brow furrowed slightly. He shut the door with a clang then turned back to his bed to grab his shirt and put it on.

When he opened the door again, he found Yan Huan squatting on the ground, with blood dripping steadily from her nose.

Qin Jian was startled, ”Did the door hit your face just now?”

It didn’t make sense; there was still some distance when he closed the door.

Yan Huan, pinching her nose and lifting her tearful eyes, said, ”Commander Qin, can you help me stop the bleeding first?”

”Fine. I’ll take you to the infirmary,” Qin Jian frowned, buttoning up his shirt.

”By the time we get to the infirmary, I’m afraid all my blood will have drained. Can’t you just help me out first?” Yan Huan couldn’t help but complain. Qin Jian was really so inconsiderate!

It was her own bad luck today!

Seeing the door coming at her, why did she lunge forward?

But all things considered, it was still Qin Jian’s fault. Without saying a word, he just closed the door; she thought he wasn’t going to pay her any attention.

Seeing that Yan Huan’s bleeding was indeed quite heavy, Qin Jian had not wanted to bother with her.

But seeing the blood dripping persistently, he nodded, ”Wait outside for a moment, I’ll fetch you some water.”

The end of the corridor housed the water room.

Qin Jian fetched a basin of cold water and was just approaching the dormitory entrance when he encountered Tian Niu and An Hao coming from the opposite direction.

”Commander! Look who I brought to see you?” Tian Niu said with a grin.

”An Hao, what are you doing here?” Seeing her, Qin Jian was both pleasantly surprised and a bit taken aback.

”You’re so busy that you don’t have time to come see me. Am I not allowed to come see you?” An Hao stood there, smiling at him.

”I’ve been a bit too busy with the military district competition lately, I haven’t been able to get away to see you...”

Before Qin Jian could finish, Yan Huan’s voice called out from inside the room, ”Commander Qin, hurry up! I’m waiting for the water here!”

The sudden voice of a girl from inside caught An Hao by surprise.

It wasn’t that she was surprised by what Qin Jian was up to, but that she was surprised a female soldier could be so bold as to enter Qin Jian’s dorm and order him around to fetch water for her.

”This is bad, this is bad,” Tian Niu cried out in dismay, fearing exactly what had come.

He decided he did not want to stay here. If he stirred up trouble, he wouldn’t be able to escape the punishment.

Tian Niu turned on his heels and scurried away, leaving An Hao and Qin Jian standing there.

”There are some things I need to explain to you.” Looking at the subtle expression on An Hao’s face, Qin Jian, who never felt tense on the battlefield or with a gun in hand, was now feeling somewhat nervous.

An Hao’s lips curled upwards, ”Comrade Commander, why are you nervous?”
