Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 357: Chapter 357: When did I become your brother?

An Hao glanced at her and stuck out her tongue, ”Bleah...”

”Hahahaha!” Everyone in the dormitory burst into laughter.

”An Hao, can you give us a break?” Gu Shuangshuang glared at An Hao and climbed slowly to the upper bunk before continuing, ”Why don’t you ask your brother to take us out for a meal someday, let us all get acquainted?”

”Sure, sure!”

”Agreed!”

Zhang Juan and Lei Linxuan voiced their approval in succession.

Xu Yinuo just watched quietly, not saying a word.

”Why do you want to meet my brother? Are you really not afraid that my future sister-in-law will be angry?” An Hao carefully made her bed.

”I’m not afraid at all! With my peerless beauty, Gu Shuangshuang, I’m sure once your brother sees me, he’ll be utterly smitten! Who cares about his sweetheart!”

”Then I definitely can’t let you meet him!” An Hao put the pillow down, flipped over comfortably and said, ”Lest you all get your hearts broken when you can’t draw his eyes away from me.”

”Tsk! Stingy! Boring!” Gu Shuangshuang said.

.....................

An Hao had hurt her leg; it took over a week of rest for the wound to heal before she could continue with the training.

It was as if Guan Kexin had offended some deity; she was constantly being punished by Instructor Tian.

She was made to stand at attention under the blazing sun, or to do frog jumps and walk like a duck, it seemed they were always finding the most humiliating and exhausting ways to torment her.

Instructor Tian Niu was always smiling, spouting words about how it was all for her good, but his eyes seemed glued to her, always picking on her alone.

She was really put through the wringer!

Somehow, she made it to the end of the military training. There was a final parade review, and as long as she could get through that, life would finally return to normal.

After a tough month, as a final presentation of the results, all the school’s leaders sat on the podium at the parade ground.

As a military leader, Qin Jian was among those invited.

The review began, and Qin Jian sat on the podium, watching silently as the contingents marched by him, his face expressionless.

Only when An Hao’s contingent passed did a trace of emotion fleet across his face.

After the parade review was over, Gu Shuangshuang immediately pulled An Hao to the side, ”Come on, let’s get your brother to take us out for dinner!”

An Hao glanced at Qin Jian from afar; he was discussing something with the school leaders, ”If you want to eat, I’ll treat you. He’s very busy.”

”Busy?” Gu Shuangshuang pointed at the approaching Qin Jian and said, ”Look, he’s coming to find you.”

Just when you fear something, it happens. An Hao saw Qin Jian getting closer, and a string in her heart tightened.

To avoid being caught out, An Hao hurriedly went up to meet him and shouted loudly, ”Brother, you came!”

Brother?

Qin Jian frowned, looking at An Hao puzzledly, ”What are you playing at? Since when did I become your brother?”

Before An Hao could explain, Gu Shuangshuang, with the other three girls from the dormitory, rushed over, ”Commander An, hello!”

Commander An?

”Since when did I change my surname to An?” Qin Jian looked down at An Hao, seeing her clutching her clothes corner, smiling with a guilty face, ”Have you been saying something behind my back?”

”No, I just said you were my... brother!” An Hao muttered softly.

”Brother An! We’ve heard you’re a company commander in the army, and we’re all proud of you! We’re all good friends with An Hao, and we’ve long admired your reputation. Why don’t you treat us to dinner tonight?” Gu Shuangshuang shamelessly said.
