Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 382: Chapter 382: Could he be your lover?

The news spread as if it had grown wings, and An Hao wished for nothing more than for it to disperse even wider. That way, those who had their eyes on her husband would be in the know, and they would give up on their fruitless hopes.

Toward evening, An Hao, exhausted, left the military base.

Qin Jian was still asleep as Tian Niu and Jiang Ying saw her off, ”Sister-in-law, take care! Oh, and don’t forget, you promised to make us some delicious food.”

”Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten! I’ll get it to you as soon as I can!” An Hao said with a smile.

”Sister-in-law, count me in for a portion too.” Jiang Ying also knew about An Hao’s excellent cooking skills. Hearing that she was going to make something delicious, he certainly didn’t want to miss this opportunity. Now, before the two of them were married, he could grab a bite whenever he could.

Once they were married, that kid Qin Jian would be so fond of his wife that wanting to eat something made by An Hao would probably be difficult.

An Hao got back to school late and missed dinner.

Gu Shuangshuang, worried that she hadn’t eaten, had dished up some food for her in advance and left it on the table.

An Hao knew that Gu Shuangshuang had specially kept it aside for her, and she felt immensely touched.

In their dorm, Lei Linxuan and Zhang Juan kept to themselves, attending classes together without mingling with the others.

Xu Yinuo had a good relationship with Gu Shuangshuang but because she didn’t like how well Gu Shuangshuang treated An Hao, they would argue every now and then.

And who knew how she ended up getting quite close with Guan Kexin.

Gu Shuangshuang liked An Hao very much, so she was willing to be friends with her.

It was indeed because of Gu Shuangshuang’s presence that An Hao felt there was some warmth in the dormitory.

”Shuangshuang, I really have to thank you, you always look out for me!”

Gu Shuangshuang made a funny face at her, ”I have to be good to you, I’m going to be your sister-in-law someday!”

An Hao rolled her eyes at her, ”You can forget about being my sister-in-law, he’s already engaged. Don’t get too invested, or you’ll be heartbroken later.”

Gu Shuangshuang sighed, ”Ah, your brother doesn’t even give me a second look. By the way, did you give those gloves to your brother?”

”No, I gave them to Instructor Tian.” An Hao spoke as if it didn’t matter.

”What? Didn’t I tell you to give them to your brother?”

”You said to my ’Brother in Arms!’ Right? I made sure!” An Hao said.

”Alright, you win!” Gu Shuangshuang changed her mind; that Instructor Tian was quite cute after all, ”But... An Hao, I’ve noticed that your brother doesn’t look anything like you. Are you hiding something from me? He’s not your ’Brother in Love,’ is he?”

”If he really was my ’Brother in Love,’ what would you do?” An Hao asked her.

Gu Shuangshuang sharpened her imaginary knives, ”I would strangle you!”

”Mommy!” An Hao jumped in alarm, ”Shuangshuang, I definitely don’t want to become your enemy.”

”Me neither. So you’ll tell the truth, then.”

An Hao sighed and nodded in admission, ”Alright! I admit I didn’t tell you the whole truth, he is my ’Brother in Love,’ and also my fiancé! Shuangshuang, I was selfish, which is why I didn’t give him the gloves. Will you hate me?”

Gu Shuangshuang froze for a moment, ”You’re kidding me, right?”

”Do I look like I am?”

”Yes! A big, fat yes!” Gu Shuangshuang laughed heartily.

”Okay, enough. I’m not joking with you anymore, I’m telling the truth,” An Hao said, wanting to clear up any misunderstandings seriously.

”Alright, alright. I believe you,” Gu Shuangshuang said.
