Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 366: Chapter 366: Out of Danger

Zhang Yun tightly held Ning Yibin, her face covered with tears as she spoke, ”Old Ning, you must hold on! You absolutely mustn’t leave us mother and daughter behind! Our child, lost for thirty years, has finally been found; didn’t you say you hoped our son could keep you company playing chess and drinking? You have to stay strong!”

Ning Yibin nodded with difficulty, a wave of sharp pain in his chest made it hard to breathe as though a massive stone was pressing down on him; his eyes fixed on Qin Jian, incessantly, unblinkingly...

Zhang Yun understood Ning Yibin’s intention. Her gaze also turned toward Qin Jian: ”You are the child I bore, the one I suffered three days and nights for, nearly losing my life to bring you into this world. They swapped the child while I was unconscious! You are the son we’ve been searching for so desperately...”

After speaking, Zhang Yun’s eyes reddened, and tears also started to well up in the corners of Ning Yibin’s eyes: ”Qin Jian, call me Dad...”

Qin Jian, looking at his parents who were over fifty, felt a surge of emotion, and his eyes started to turn red too: ”Dad... Mom...”

Ning Yibin was rushed to the hospital, and this time, the situation was somewhat more serious.

It was a myocardial infarction!

Two of the heart’s three main coronary arteries were blocked, and if help had arrived any later, it would have been tremendously troublesome.

The hospital’s expert team was actively organizing a rescue; one after another, drugs were infused into the IV drip, watching the liquid flow continuously into Ning Yibin’s body, Zhang Yun felt her heart being squeezed to the limit.

Qin Jian held her hand tightly by his side, his own palm also starting to sweat: ”Don’t worry, he will definitely get better.”

The doctors gathered around the bed saw Zhang Yun so nervous she was almost suffocating and explained to her, ”Please be assured! We will do our best to save the Commander! Right now, thrombolysis is underway; as long as there’s no gastrointestinal bleeding, there should absolutely be no problem.”

”But what if bleeding happens?” Zhang Yun dared not think about this question, but she also couldn’t help but consider it.

”There should be no problem. We’re fully prepared for surgery!” the attending physician said.

Shortly after, the hospital’s dean also arrived and said to the attending physician upon seeing the current situation, ”To make absolutely sure everything goes well, go and fetch Professor Yan Ye right away! Despite his young age, he is indeed an expert in surgical operations. He’s bold yet meticulous, calm and composed, always making the right call at critical moments.”

”Yes, yes, exactly! Please also bring Little Yanzi over,” Zhang Yun said anxiously.

Yan Ye had been serving at PLA Hospital 3302, and because he had published numerous academic papers, he was also highly influential internationally.

The military medical university, not wanting to waste such talent, thus invited him to become a teacher at their school, making him the youngest professor.

Once he arrived, after consulting with all the specialists in the hospital, he then formulated a surgical plan.

Thankfully, such a critical condition did not occur.

Usually, hospitals recommend stent surgery for such conditions, but it wasn’t absolutely necessary for Commander Ning’s case.

Yan Ye suggested that if it wasn’t necessary to insert a stent, it was better not to, to avoid the risk of another infarction leaving no opportunity for rescue.

In the night, Ning Yibin finally regained consciousness and, seeing Qin Jian and Yan Ye both by his side, he smiled with relief.

His voice was low and weak, but it did not hide the joy in his heart: ”Yan Ye, this is Qin Jian! He is also my son who was lost for many years! You got along well with Ning Bo before he passed away, and I hope that in the future, you two can become friends.”
