Sweet Nostalgia of the 80s

Chapter 386: Chapter 386: He’s Actually Your Fiancé!

”It’s nothing serious! Shuangshuang, I can’t talk right now, I’m in a hurry!” An Hao was already eager to visit the military base to see what was going on.

”An Hao! There must be something wrong!” Seeing her unusual behavior, Gu Shuangshuang was certain something had happened, ”If you’re in trouble, just say it! We can face it together! I consider you a friend, An Hao, and I hope you’ll do the same for me!”

Gu Shuangshuang’s words were so heartfelt, An Hao decided not to hide it any longer: ”I do have a little problem, I have to make a trip to the military base! Qin Jian hasn’t come to see me in two or three days. I’m worried that something might have happened to him.”

”Qin Jian? The regiment commander?” Gu Shuangshuang asked.

”Yes.” An Hao nodded.

”Isn’t his last name An? Why is it Qin now? What exactly is your relationship with him?” Gu Shuangshuang wondered.

”I told you about it last time, remember?”

”Hey, wait for me! I’ll go with you,” Gu Shuangshuang said, always eager to lend a hand.

Gu Shuangshuang took a minute to get dressed, and the two left the school and boarded a bus.

On the bus, An Hao seriously recounted her relationship with Qin Jian to her again, as well as the situation when they broke up that day.

Gu Shuangshuang was utterly surprised after listening!

”Regiment commander Qin is actually your fiancé! What you said was actually true!”

”Yes.” An Hao nodded again.

”I... I thought you were just joking that day. Turns out you were serious!” Gu Shuangshuang broke into a cold sweat after realizing it.

”I’m sorry! It wasn’t intentional! I didn’t want to make our relationship public at the time because I was worried it might cause trouble. But, I never imagined it would... from now on, I’ll be honest with you! Please, trust me!” An Hao spoke sincerely.

”Okay. I believe you,” Gu Shuangshuang said, wiping away sweat. She was relieved that An Hao wasn’t making it a big issue, but she still felt she had to explain to An Hao, ”That... An Hao, my feelings for regiment commander Qin were just admiration! It’s not like I really liked him or anything! I’m just a blundering type, sometimes I joke around for no reason, just for fun. When I was in high school, I used to tease my deskmate, enjoyed seeing him turn into a big red tomato. Don’t take it to heart, please. I swear, I have no improper thoughts about regiment commander Qin at all. Seems like I’ll have to change that habit of mine!”

”I believe you. And I also cherish our friendship!”

”That’s good, that’s good. I want to become close friends with whom I can share everything!” Gu Shuangshuang said with an embarrassed chuckle. Initially, she had shamelessly suggested to An Hao to dump her fiancé, Qin Jian.

Thinking back now, she cringed... how embarrassing!

Luckily, An Hao wasn’t holding it against her!

If everyone were as narrow-minded as Xu Yinuo... there would have been trouble between the two of them, and they probably couldn’t have remained friends in the future.

In the midst of their conversation, they arrived at the entrance of the military base.

The guard on duty recognized An Hao. As she approached, he came down from his post and gave her a standard military salute, ”Sister-in-law, are you here to see the regiment commander?”

”Yes. Is he in?” An Hao asked anxiously.

”The regiment commander has been out these past few days. He isn’t here, but Platoon Leader Tian is. Let me get in touch with Platoon Leader Tian for you.”

”That would be great. Thank you!”

The guard on duty called Tian Niu, and shortly after, Tian Niu came out from the base.
