Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1650 - 1651: Begging for Mercy

Qi Taiguo and his family received a call from their hometown, and they were absolutely furious. The Zhang family’s behavior was something they’d never witnessed before.

”Do they really think not handing over the household registration book means we can’t do anything? And they dare to ask for money?” Cheng Su chuckled in anger.

”Useless people who can’t achieve anything. Do they think our Qi family is easy to bully?” Qi Taiguo, infuriated, had an imposing aura that made people fearful.

”That’s why everything should’ve been settled right from the start. The marriage is already over, so what’s the point of keeping the household registration there?” Cheng Su sighed lightly.

Qi Taiguo felt compelled to defend his elder sister: ”Elder Sister regrets it too. She didn’t foresee this happening. When she got divorced, she didn’t get anything, not even a house, so where was she supposed to relocate her household registration to? If she moved it back to our family, she probably felt it would be awkward.”

Cheng Su continued, ”This time, we must relocate it, including the two children’s. Anyway, the court has already granted custody to Elder Sister during the divorce, so it’s natural for the household registration to follow her. Otherwise, if it remains with the Zhang family, who knows what kind of trouble they might cause in the future!” They were truly like parasitic leeches.

She added, ”Zhang Jisheng is exactly as you described, completely useless with no foresight. He’s digging his own grave by alienating his own children!”

”Forget it, a father like that is better off gone!” Qi Taiguo had no particular thoughts about it, saying, ”I’ll give Zhang Jiguang a call and see if he’s trying to ruin himself!”

Cheng Su nodded, hoping that this would be Elder Sister’s last hardship and that she could finally enjoy a bright and vast future!

Whether it was due to Qi Taiguo’s call or some other reason, within a couple of days, Zhang Jisheng showed up sheepishly with the household registration book to meet Qi Fenglian and the rest of them.

He looked extremely haggard, clearly not yet forty but seeming stooped, with graying hair, and thin like a fifty-year-old.

Seeing him, Qi Fenglian felt a mix of emotions in her heart, swallowing the sarcastic and mocking words she wanted to say.

She didn’t need to speak sarcastically; she already knew that Zhang Jisheng wasn’t living well, which was enough.

”This time, Xiao Yun and Baobao’s household registration will be relocated along with mine.” Qi Fenglian steeled herself and told him her decision.

Zhang Jisheng was stunned: ”What? Move their household registration? To where?” His eyes glanced at Chu Changxing standing beside Qi Fenglian, and his gaze immediately darkened as he lowered his head, his hands clenching into fists.

”Wherever my household registration goes, they will naturally follow,” Qi Fenglian said.

”No way!” Zhang Jisheng retorted without even thinking, ”They carry the Zhang surname, they are my children. You can relocate your household registration, but not the children’s!”

Qi Fenglian laughed coldly, ”Zhang Jisheng, don’t forget, during the divorce, I left with nothing. The court awarded the children to me, so naturally, they should be with my household registration!” She taunted, ”As for you saying they’re your children, that’s true, but have you fulfilled a father’s responsibilities? All these years, did you contribute any money for their education and living expenses? I’ve been the one raising them, so what right do you have to control their household registration? To exploit it for money again when they need something in the future?”

Zhang Jisheng, red-faced with shame, pressed his lips tightly together.

”Since you consider them your children, then let them go for once. Consider this my last request!” Qi Fenglian said coldly.

Zhang Jisheng’s whole body trembled as he looked at her unyielding eyes, gradually lowering his head.
