Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1629 - 1630: Mutual Flattery

Mother Cheng’s words sound pleasant, yet they’re not entirely flattery; they’re quite sincere. Nowadays, when discussing Xiashui Village, the household most envied is the Qi family.

Why?

The Qi family has four siblings; except for Qi Fenglian, who hasn’t achieved much, the eldest, Qi Taiguo, is an officer, the youngest son is in college, and even Qi Fengping, who previously caused a stir with a premarital pregnancy, managed to get into college. Perhaps it’s not evident now, but upon graduating, they won’t struggle to find good jobs or lack money, will they?

What, Qi Fengping has a bad reputation? Never mind, she was just naive and got taken advantage of once. But now she’s made changes and gone to college. As for the past, hasn’t everyone encountered some troubles? Saying someone’s shameless for one mistake, who dictated they can’t ever bounce back? She halted her losses in time and is clearly wise now.

So, some truly want to learn from the Qi family on how they raised such capable children who could all get into college. It’s truly enviable.

And if getting into college makes people envious, then being wealthy makes them even more so!

Attending college earns a good reputation, but as long as you can make money, it doesn’t matter whether you attended college or not. Wealth is ultimate. Like the eldest’s wife, Cheng Su, she’s like a treasure trove, and she’s also a college graduate treasure trove, yet this kind of person ended up with the Qi family.

Therefore, among the two villages, who doesn’t envy the Qi family? All the good things come their way; how can one not envy them?

Mother Qi felt reassured and comfortable by Mother Cheng’s words but still pretended to be modest, saying, ”All good, all good, your family is good too.”

”...You know, not long ago, someone asked me about a match for Jianguo. Well, I thought he’s a university student, still studying, it’s too early to talk about such things, so I declined. Actually, I believe a promising university student should find a well-matched partner, how could he casually choose an uneducated girl? Don’t you agree?” Mother Cheng praised her further.

These words surely hit Mother Qi’s heart, ”You’re absolutely right, if they don’t match well, it just means more arguments, what’s the point?”

”Exactly.”

Seeing her agreement, Mother Qi felt even more delighted, looked at Mother Cheng, who seemed more pleasing than before, and decided to return the favor, saying, ”I have no big demands, as long as Jianguo has a good job in the future and finds a good wife to live lovingly together. Look at his eldest brother and sister-in-law, both understanding and cooperative, it proves setting them up was very suitable, such a good match, even their horoscopes are perfectly aligned. Our Taiguo is lucky to have Xiao Qi’s mother as his wife.”

Mother Cheng nearly covered her mouth to hide her laughter, thinking, ”It’s rare to hear such praise from you; it’s been so many years before you finally said something good.”

”Isn’t that right? In the future, Taiguo will surely become even more successful, you just wait and enjoy. Now they have a grandson too, let them live as they wish, we just play with the grandchildren and have fun!” Mother Cheng laughed.

Mother Qi nodded, looking at Qi Xiaoqi, whose eyes wandered restlessly, and sighed, ”What a pity, this child isn’t very close to me yet.”

Though it’s not like before, crying as soon as she held him, if she did hold him, he couldn’t stay calm for five minutes, making Mother Qi feel discouraged and quite upset.

Mother Cheng sympathized and said, ”Once he gets used to it slowly, it’ll be better, as long as your legs are completely fine.”

Indeed, otherwise, holding the increasingly heavy grandson, her legs wouldn’t be strong enough, and she wouldn’t be able to hold him.
