Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1620 - 1621: Satisfaction

Cheng Su was just like a butterfly fluttering around the store, constantly picking out clothes, not only for her mom and mother-in-law but also for her dad and father-in-law. When others said she couldn’t afford it, she simply ignored the price, seeing the salespeople forcing a smile made her feel a burst of joy.

This was her first time ’bullying’ people in this way, and it was because she had money. This was the confidence money gave her.

As for the elders, they all thought it was enough. The most upset, Mother Cheng, when she saw their expressions, her anger dissipated, and she began to feel sorry for her daughter’s money. She quietly tugged at her sleeve and said, ”That’s enough, did you bring enough money today? If you go too far trying to show off, you’ll make a fool of yourself. I’ve looked at the price of these clothes, and they are quite expensive.”

You’ve bought so much now, without at least a few thousand, we might not be able to leave. If we don’t have enough money, we’ll be laughed at for pretending to be wealthy.

Cheng Su indeed didn’t bring enough money, but it’s alright, she had a bank card with her. Nowadays, the bank cards were not as widely used as they are in later generations, but they had been launched a few years ago. The card she had was called a Quasi-credit Card, which she had specifically applied for to facilitate travel.

Isn’t this just the right time to use it?

However, Cheng Su still asked the salespeople first, ”If cash isn’t enough, can I pay with a card?”

They were taken aback and nodded like chicks pecking at rice: ”Yes, you can.”

Seeing their regretful expressions and the salespeople who didn’t dare to approach, Cheng Su finally felt satisfied and stopped.

”Pick out the right sizes and then prepare the bill,” Cheng Su said with a wave.

Just as she was about to walk away, suddenly a voice rang out: ”Is that you, Little Su?”

Cheng Su turned around, only to see Cheng Yaozong walking in with a few people dressed in suits who looked like managers.

Seeing Cheng Yaozong, the salespeople were stunned and bowed.

”Second brother, why are you here? Didn’t the old man say you were attending to affairs in the Capital?” Cheng Su asked, quite surprised to see him.

Calling him second brother made the previously disdainful salesperson’s face turn pale, dumbfounded as they looked at Cheng Su and her family.

How could this be? They’ve never heard about the boss having such poor relatives. But then again, they weren’t poor, not with the way they picked out clothes?

”I flew back last night, arrived in the early hours. I came over today for a tour of the store. I heard from Yaozu that you were here, weren’t you going to the park?” Cheng Yaozong asked her and looked at Father Cheng and the others.

Cheng Su introduced her family to him, and Mother Cheng and the others curiously observed the imposing man in front of them.

”Guangcheng is hotter than Qing City, so I brought them over to buy some clothes, and ran into you here.” Cheng Su said with a smile.

”Yes, the South is hotter than the North.” Cheng Yaozong nodded, ”Did you find anything you liked?”

As his gaze shifted, he saw the clothes the salespeople were holding and said, ”Let the bill go through me.” He subtly tilted his head, and his assistant naturally stepped forward to converse with the salespeople.

”Second brother, no, these are clothes for my parents and in-laws, I can’t let the bill go through you.” Cheng Su stopped him and glanced, again, half-jokingly at the salesperson who was still bowing their head, and said, ”Although little sister’s wealth doesn’t compare to yours, I can afford to buy some clothes for my family.”

Having navigated the business world for years, Cheng Yaozong was a seasoned individual. Just by observing Cheng Su’s expression and her meaningful sarcasm, he knew there was a story behind this. Looking at the elders’ attire and the salespeople’s anxious looks, he could guess a bit of the situation, and his gaze deepened.
