Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1632 - 1633: A Cold Shower

Cheng Su has never been a content person, really. Whether in her parental family or her in-laws, everyone is well aware of this from her series of tosses and turns over the past few years.

She is restless!

Now, this restless woman is saying she wants to start another business?

”Seafood?” Father Cheng asked, somewhat puzzled. How did she suddenly think of doing this business?

”It’s stuff from the sea?” Father Qi added with a question.

Cheng Su sat down and said, ”Seafood dry goods include a lot of things, not just seafood. There are also other animals and plants, but the main focus is things from the sea. Like the braised sea cucumber we ate at the restaurant yesterday, scallops with lettuce, and the braised abalone—these are all dry goods. Also, the dessert, rock sugar bird’s nest, can all be sold at the seafood shop.”

”Aren’t these things quite expensive? Where do you get the money to start?” Mother Qi reacted.

Cheng Su already has a restaurant and that Jam Company, and now she says she wants to open a seafood shop. Where does the money come from?

”Small means small business, big means big business. At the start, the inventory may be limited. Once the business opens and the capital chain matures, it can expand further.” Cheng Su said, ”I already have a restaurant, and some of the dry goods for the restaurant are purchased externally. The quality is not great, and they’re expensive. If we have our own seafood shop, at least the supply can be reliable.”

Cheng Su had thought it over carefully. Having a restaurant requires some seafood dry goods. Rather than paying others, why not earn it yourself? It saves costs for the restaurant and ensures the seafood shop’s sales.

Moreover, she surely won’t stop at just one small restaurant in the future. From a long-term perspective, she’ll only continue to grow.

Unless, she becomes unfortunate in some future financial crisis or economic downturn, then there’s nothing to be done.

”You can do it, but Cheng Su, you have Xiao Qi now, and you haven’t finished your studies. How will you manage this shop? If it were in the same city, that would be one thing, but Guangcheng and Qing City are so far apart. How will you juggle both?” Father Cheng said a bit sternly: ”You can’t rely on a momentary interest to do things; you have to consider every aspect.”

Father Cheng’s words were like a cold bucket of water poured over Cheng Su, instantly cooling half of her enthusiasm.

But only half.

Cheng Su said, ”Dad, not every business requires personal oversight. You can also hire people. If I want to open this shop, I will certainly think it through and carefully make plans.”

”Seafood dry goods require a considerable investment. If the people you hire aren’t reliable, then...”

Cheng Su laughed, ”Don’t worry, Cheng Zhi and Third Uncle are both in Guangcheng, aren’t they?”

Father Cheng remained silent.

Mother Qi looked over, pursing her lips, thinking that she was only considering her own family and not even a thought passed for them.

Before she could think more, she heard her continue, ”Besides, if Third Uncle and the others are busy, Jianguo is attending university here. His studies aren’t that intense, so he can help me keep an eye on things occasionally, check the accounts, and also learn how to do business.”

Upon hearing this, Mother Qi’s frown immediately relaxed, which seemed more reasonable.

”At worst, there’s also the Cheng family. If there’s truly a need, you can definitely call on some trustworthy people,” Cheng Su said. ”It’s just at the beginning, needing a little attention.”

This is crucial; at the beginning stages, let’s not mention decorations, Third Uncle can handle that, but procurement—the initial time investment is critical, as she’s now a mother and doesn’t want to be away from her son for too long.
