Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife

Chapter 1625 - 1626: A Woman’s Most Precious Asset

When it comes to getting along with Qi Taiguo, Cheng Su was momentarily silent, recalling the bits and pieces of their relationship over the years—there were quarrels, conflicts, tempers, and sweetness. It’s not an exaggeration to say it’s a mix of sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy.

”...When we were dating, we got along well, but I’ve heard that after marriage, it’s not like dating anymore. People gradually find each other annoying. I’m quite scared,” Ying Xiaoya said softly.

Cheng Su pondered for a moment and then said, ”How about this? If you’re afraid of becoming gradually annoyed, you should understand that you need to keep things fresh all the time. A couple can share everything, but it doesn’t mean they have to share everything. It’s fine to have some harmless little secrets. Maintaining a sense of mystery makes him feel that there’s always a side of you that he hasn’t discovered yet. Do you think he could get tired of that? Men love the word ’conquer’ the most.”

Ying Xiaoya pursed her lips, ”Will it be happiness like that?”

Cheng Su laughed, ruffled her hair, and said, ”That’s just love preservation. To have a happy marriage, you first have to be yourself, love yourself, and be good to yourself. I’ve told you before, love someone, seven parts is enough, leave three parts for yourself, right?”

”I think you did say that...”

”Exactly. Leave those three parts for yourself, love yourself fully, and don’t invest all ten parts in the other person. Even if there’s a change, you’ll have three parts left and won’t be left with nothing.” Cheng Su smiled gently, ”Don’t underestimate these three parts. Often, at many times, these little three parts can save you from disaster.”

Ying Xiaoya’s pupils contracted slightly, ”What you’re saying makes marriage sound like a beast that could tear people apart at any moment.”

Cheng Su chided, ”Look at you, I’m not just talking about marriage, I’m obviously talking about dealing between two people.”

”Anyway, I find it pretty scary.” Ying Xiaoya pouted.

”Silly girl,” Cheng Su stroked her smooth hair, ”Is Cheng Yaozu making you feel insecure, lacking confidence?”

”Not really, it’s just that, isn’t it different before and after marriage, as some people say?” Ying Xiaoya said awkwardly.

”It’s different, that’s normal. You’ve been together for a long time. There’s no such thing as eternal passion, only enduring affection. You don’t have to worry about anything else; you just need to manage yourself well.” Cheng Su looked at her and said, ”The Cheng family is wealthy, very wealthy. I believe the Cheng family will be even wealthier in the future. Even if you don’t work, you won’t lack food and drink or worry about life. But, Xiaoya, what I want to tell you is that no matter how wealthy the Cheng family is, you should have your own career and work. Cheng Yaozu is very young and will always be moving forward. If you want to be with him for the long term, you can’t fall too far behind, because if you’re too far behind, you won’t be able to see him.”

Ying Xiaoya’s face changed.

”If the distance between the two of you becomes too great, you’ll eventually be out of reach. Therefore, you need to learn, to progress with him, to make yourself capable enough to fulfill the role of Mrs. Cheng. Of course, if you can make the world recognize you as Ying Xiaoya, not just Cheng Yaozu’s wife, then you’ll be even more outstanding.” Cheng Su said with a smile, ”An outstanding woman, how can a man look away? He’d probably want to stick to you all the time.”

No man doesn’t like an exceptional woman; someone who shines like a Star Diamond, how could he look away?

Making yourself better applies not just to marriage, but also enhances yourself. This is a woman’s most valuable treasure.
