Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 481: Cloud-Repelling Device

Nathan couldnʼt help as if a huge burden was lifted up from his shoulder after telling them about his soul contract.

After Vivian got back the magazine, she took out a bracelet. She then tied it with her necklace. Then, she put everything inside the pouch.

”How about this? Use your contract on the bracelet. It has good material for ena, so it should be usable for this experiment.” Vivian tossed the pouch to Nathan.

While catching it, Nathan asked, ”What kind of agreement should I put in the contract? I have some ideas, but for now, Iʼm thinking something like this.”

Nathan formed the contract in his hand.

[Storage A will be paying 10 ena for the ability to use Wind Burst in all directions. It will pay all the remaining ena within the storage to unleash the most powerful Wind Burst.]

Vivian squinted her eyes. ”Wind Burst? A technique name?”

”Yes. To be honest, knowing the technique and its detail will allow me to give a more specific order, which in turn results in a stronger and more precise ability.” Nathan explained. He had tested this before with the space element.

”Hmm?” Vivian thought for a moment. Meanwhile, Charlotte suggested, ”Change it to generate a shock wave in the form of a burst of wind in all directions. This way, we can get both the shock wave from the eruption of the ena from that burst without paying for it. It wonʼt double the power, but it should be much stronger than the original agreement.”

”Got it.” Nathan followed her suggestion. ”Is this enough?”

”I believe it is enough.” Vivian nodded. ”We should test it right away.”

Nathan nodded. ”In that case, letʼs try the trigger for this contract. Hmm…”

After some thought, Nathan formulated the final contract.

[Storage A will pay for 10 ena for Necklace A to produce a sudden burst of wind in all directions. Storage A will pay with everything it has to produce the most powerful shock wave. This contract will be triggered the moment it touches an ash cloud.]

He immediately applied the contract to the object.

He had never given a contract to an object before because there was no need to, and he didnʼt have some ena to spare. But if this actually worked, the foundation of the device would be completed much faster than anyone expected.

”Iʼm done.” Nathan nodded.

”Good. Now…” Vivian grabbed the pouch while shouting, ”Sir Dragon King. Please help us with the experiment!”

”!!!” The Dragon King was startled since he was still in the middle of repelling the ash cloud. ”What?”

When he was about to descend, Vivian tossed the pouch into the sky.

The Dragon King caught it with a confused face. ”What am I supposed to do with this?”

Vivian pointed at the cloud while saying, ”Please fly to the middle of the cloud and let the pouch touch the cloud. If it doesnʼt do anything, please open the pouch inside the cloud.”

The Dragon King was confused, but he still followed the instructions carefully. This was an experiment that would decide the fate of humanity, so there was no time to care about seniority.

The Dragon King moved to the ash cloud that he hadnʼt touched a single time. Then, he lifted up the pouch before ascending to the ash cloud, wondering what would happen.

The moment the pouch entered the cloud, the Dragon King could feel the ena flowing, which gradually formed a massive burst of shock wave followed by a wind element.

It produced a powerful wind in all directions. It wasnʼt concentrated enough to actually create the wind physically, but it was strong enough to blow away the cloud, creating a certain circle in the sky.

”Hmm? This is…” The Dragon King widened his eyes and looked up, seeing the dark sky. He turned around, realizing that the wind was actually stronger than he originally thought.

It created a hole with a radius of 50 meters (164 feet). The ash cloud immediately recovered from its original direction since it was still expanding, but the opposite direction was actually stopping, which showed the true radius.

It was gradually recovering as well, but the speed was extremely slow.

”Ah!” The Dragon King finally realized that this thing would definitely change the world. ”It seems they have found the answer…”

Obviously, Melissa had observed everything, especially since Vivian was that loud.

”Seriously? How is she so fast? Do I even have a role here?” Melissa smiled wryly.

Meanwhile, Charlotte and Vivian frowned.

”Is this enough space?” Charlotte thought for a moment. ”We have to predict the angle of the sun because of this hole, so if possible, I want something big.”

”We can make it bigger. Since itʼs all directions, we just have to use the area of a circle to calculate it. Letʼs see. If we want something big, three times the amount should be enough.”

”Fair enough. Looking at the recovery speed, I donʼt think it will be recovering any time soon. My prediction is above 4 or 5 hours.” Charlotte nodded.

”Yeah. If we create a bigger hole, it will last longer. So, I think itʼs fine to start in the morning around 7 or 8 am. It will last for about 6 to 7 hours with that bigger hole, if not longer, so it gives enough time for farming, no?” Vivian crossed her arms.

”Indeed. The activation sequence is also quite fast, but we have to ensure that the velocity is not too fast.”

”In that case, letʼs tell Melissa about it. She is better than me in this field.”

Nathan asked, ”Should I tell Flora about it? Besides, we need to know how many devices we need to produce. After all, Iʼm the one making it. I also need to go to the front line soon, so I want to finish it within a week, if possible.”

”You can tell her after we get Melissaʼs opinion.”

Nathan nodded. ”In that case, I will call Melissa here.”
