Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 464: Granting the Land

”Ehm… If you need land, I might have a way to get it for you.”

Nathan squinted his eyes. ”What do you mean?”

”There are three ways to acquire land. The first is to become a noble of a kingdom and have the king bestow you with land. This will allow the kingdom to protect you as well.

”The second way is to occupy the land like a bandit. Thereʼs a chance that the kingdom will be hostile, which will lead to a subjugation.

”Last but not least, marry a noble.” Flora looked at Nathan with a serious expression. ”My motherʼs family has a land bestowed on her fatherʼs name in the past. However, my mother passed away after giving birth to me. Her last relative, my grandfather, passed away not long after her due to the grief. Hence, I inherit that land.

”However, we have never built anything there. If you marry me, you will be able to get that land legally.” Flora added that condition, but soon noticed Nathan furrowing his eyebrows.

If Sera was here, she would have thought, ʼThe kingdom is going to fall, so who cares about the legal system? Besides, doesnʼt this mean Flora wonʼt be a princess anymore?ʼ

Noticing Nathanʼs reaction, Flora added, ”Of course. There is one more way, but it is not really preferred by you, I think. After all, it will be considered as you working for me. I can grant you the right. While I donʼt actively handle the land, itʼs still legally in my name.”

Nathan contemplated for a moment. ”Where is the land?”

”Itʼs called Lavant.”

”Where is that?”

”Ehm…” Flora looked around. ”Do you have the kingdom map here?”

”I have one.” Selena rushed back to her room and brought back a huge map.

Without wasting any seconds, Flora pointed at the small piece of land a bit to the north. The position was a bit awkward because the king must know that they wouldnʼt develop it anyway, so he just gave them a random land.

The terrain wasnʼt good for protection, and it didnʼt seem they could build a defense around it to become a small city.

Nathan crossed his arms while closing his eyes. ʼShould I accept? I have never thought that I would end up in a world that is undergoing an apocalypse. Itʼs not a zombie or dungeon apocalypse. Itʼs just… a natural disaster.

ʼStill, thereʼs no long-lasting food in this place like the modern world. If canned food is here, we could probably survive a bit longer, but we have no other option now.

ʼIf I donʼt do anything, the situation will become much more dangerous. 90% of the population will die naturally, while another 8% die because of aliens. The remaining people will be struggling to survive under the onslaught.

ʼNow that I think about it, why would I have that dream? That is not a dream… Itʼs more like a premonition. Is it something special? The volcanic winter, elite class aliens, or even world destruction.

ʼI did think that the world was over in that dream. Or was it something I experienced in the past or a different timeline whatsoever?

ʼNevertheless, I just want to live peacefully in this world. If world destruction is going to stop me from achieving my goal, I will save the world, I guess…ʼ

Nathan took a deep breath. ”Alright. Grant me the right to manage your land. Itʼs not an ideal place to set up a defense, but itʼs enough for the time being. At least the soldiers should be able to hold the enemy for a year… at the longest before all this winter and famine crushed them.

”And the aliens will probably take over the world until there is only 10% or 20% of human territory left. With that small size, itʼs easier to defend, so that can wait.

”For now, I need the land to get as much food as possible. If we can extend that for one more year or two, it will help us a lot in the future.”

Flora nodded, agreeing with Nathan. Still, she felt a bit hurt when Nathan didnʼt even mention anything about marrying her, which reminded her of Sullivanʼs order.

”In that case, Noelle will show the land to you. I have shown her the land in the past, so she could bring you there.”

”What about you?” Nathan frowned.

Flora let out a long sigh. ”Even though I want to follow you guys, itʼs not possible right now. If the vice president is going to be leaving, I need to be here to keep the students in order. Besides, the principal and the vice principal wonʼt be here. There is at least one person to hold the reins.”

”I can ask Sullivan to go back.” Vivian frowned. ”You should come with us. Your earth spirit and plant spirit should be pretty useful.”

”Itʼs impossible. The sword saint is better at taking command of the soldiers. We donʼt want the frontline to collapse immediately.”

”Then…” Vivian didnʼt like that they would have to leave them behind.

”Donʼt worry. I will be catching up soon.” Flora smiled wryly. ”Iʼm planning to bring the Sage back. We can forget about the Divine Hand for the time being. Even if the truth about the Sage comes to light, people will only care about the ash in the sky.

”I will use everything I have to track the Sage and ask him to return. In this situation, the Sage is even better than the sword saint. Hence, please allow me to stay here.”

Noelle shook her head. ”If thatʼs the case, I should remain here. Iʼm the strongest student. I can keep them in check.”

”You can only use brute force. It wonʼt help in any way. Better use that brute force to help with the manual labor.” Flora turned to Nathan. ”Please bring her. I will be catching up soon.”

Nathan clenched his hands into fists. He definitely disliked the fact that he had to abandon this place. At the same time, this was the best choice.

Nathan bit his lips before saying, ”I will now give the orders!”
