Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 468: Unexpected Arrival

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

*Bang!*

”Oi, Max! Come out right now!”

A door was opened by a middle-aged man who was still rubbing his sleepy eyes. ”Are you kidding me? What are you doing in the middle of the night? My kid is crying because of you!”

The person who banged the door simply didnʼt care. ”This is the direct order of the Dragon King. Weʼll be moving the headquarters, so gather in front of our building within two hours. Tell your family to pack up their luggage while you come with me to spread the message.”

”Are you kidding me? Is it really the Dragon King? This kind of order is a mess.”

”Yes. This is the order of the Dragon King. He will kick out anyone who doesnʼt want to move.”

”Wha—!”

The people were shocked. However, they didnʼt care about it anymore. This was the first time the Dragon King had made such a ridiculous order. Still, they all knew that the Dragon King wasnʼt someone reckless. There must be a reason for this order.

When they thought about it, most of them couldnʼt help but follow his order. After all, he was considerate enough to bring their families.

While they were busy reorganizing their people, Nathan and the others had reached the land Flora told them about.

”Is this it?” Nathan frowned.

”Yes.” Noelle nodded.

”This is bad. The place itself is not suitable for farming, since this is a swamp.” Charlotte looked around. ”Is there a flatland nearby?”

”Iʼm not sure.”

Nathan crossed his arms. ”What should we do? Should we search around the area?”

”Yeah. We need a flatland. If there arenʼt any, we might have to search for a new area.”

”Should we transform this area instead?” Vivian squinted her eyes.

”No. The soil is different. However, the fact that this is a swamp, there should be a river nearby. We donʼt have to worry about the water for the time being, but itʼs going to be concerning once too much ash enters the water. We will have to rely on groundwater.

”You need to find the river and see if we can redirect the water and create a reservoir as big as possible. At least, I want a reservoir that can last for a month,” Charlotte explained.

”Got it.” Nathan waved to Noelle. ”Letʼs go. Weʼll check the right side.”

Charlotte and Vivian went to the left side.

While flying on Nidhoggʼs back, Noelle couldnʼt help but say, ”Nathan. I shouldnʼt be here…”

Noelle didnʼt really have any use other than the guide to this place. After all, the only thing she could do was to fight as a knight.

”Put away such a stupid thought. You donʼt have a role right now, but it doesnʼt mean that you wonʼt have one in the future. In fact, your role is going to be big because weʼll have to fight back the aliens once the front line is gone.”

”But…” Noelle clenched her fists.

”Thereʼs no way both you and Flora came to me to discuss such a matter. Since youʼre still in school, itʼs easy to know that your grandfather must be the one who told you to come.

”However, I donʼt like to take advantage of someoneʼs misfortune for this, so cease your dumb, unnecessary thought. It doesnʼt help with anything in this situation.” Nathan snorted.

Nidhogg glanced at her and couldnʼt help but ask Nathan, ”Now that I think about it, I have never experienced something like this. Are we going to be fine?”

”True. Maybe we need some help from them.”

”Them?” Nidhogg frowned.

”Those guys. The one who is said to be the god or goddess of agriculture.” Nathan crossed his arms. ”Ceres, the Roman goddess of agriculture? No. I donʼt think she has a lineage with something not human, so we might not be able to get her.

”How about Demeter, the Greek goddess of agriculture and harvest? If I recall correctly, she should be a titan, since her parents are Rhea and Cronus.

”Or maybe we should get another partner with us?”

”Is there someone who can do agriculture? I donʼt think I have heard of them before.”

”Iʼm thinking about Yamata-no-orochi. The one causing a flood. Water is essential, so he might be a good addition to our battle strength and utility.”

”Hmm? I donʼt know.” Nidhogg shook his head. ”Youʼre the summoner, so choose whoever you think would be the best for us.”

Nathan nodded. ”By the way, look to the right. Is that what weʼre searching for?”

Nidhogg hurriedly shifted their direction to check it.

Both of them didnʼt realize how shocked Noelle was. Both of them were casually talking about gods and goddesses. Those divine beings were rarely seen or mentioned due to their level, but Nathan and Nidhogg talked about them as if they were candies… someone who could easily be mentioned and given away.

Nidhogg nodded. ”I think this is what weʼre looking for. Itʼs an empty field. We need to check the water level, but where is the river?”

”I donʼt know. Letʼs search around here.”

It took them half an hour just to explore the area. Unfortunately, the river was actually on the other side of the swamp, but the flatland was a bit too far from it.

”This is bad. Does this mean itʼs not possible to create farmland?” Nathan crossed his arms.

”No. Itʼs still possible. Iʼm not skilled enough to do this, but we can create a small lake by destroying the ground and use familiars who can move the soil to direct the river. Fortunately, the upstream is in the east, which means the ash hasnʼt contaminated them yet.

”As for the farmland, itʼs better to create a small one since weʼll be using our power to harvest it multiple times a day.

”I also need to check whether water familiar can produce water for us. This means filling up the lake will be possible.

”Rather than thinking about other aspects, we should first check whether all of this is possible first, especially the lake part.” Charlotte frowned. None of them was strong enough to create a lake that could store a lot of water.

To their surprise, the Dragon Kingʼs voice echoed in their ears all of a sudden.

”Leave that role to me. I can create a lake or two.”
