Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 455: Evelynʼs Smile

Evelyn glanced at the three girls before turning back to Nathan. ”It seems Iʼve bothered you.”

”Not at all. Iʼm just glad that everything has gone according to our plan.”

”Your plan.” Evelyn corrected him, since she wasnʼt the one planning all this ruckus.

Nathan chuckled.

Evelyn paused for a moment. ”When are you going to interrogate them?”

”I donʼt think there is anything we need to do for the time being. The moment they realize their people have been captured, they will most likely go into hiding for the time being, preparing for the original plan.

”In that case, the government will be doing their job to protect the infected people. So, weʼre not really in a rush.

”I think I will be interrogating them after the New Year. Iʼm still on a mission after all.”

Evelyn thought for a moment. ”Fair enough. In that case, do enjoy your time here.”

”By the way…” Nathan paused for a moment.

”Hmm?” Evelyn frowned, wondering if Nathan wanted to make her fulfill her promise at this time. If that was the case, there were still the three girls here, so she couldnʼt fulfill it.

”Thereʼs nothing much we can do for the time being. However, it seems we should give one of them to the government to form a good relationship with them. They will feel indebted, and weʼll benefit from it later on.”

Evelyn nodded. ”Yeah. I donʼt mind giving one. This darkness guy is pretty useful. No, more like, he is pretty smart. Hence, weʼll be taking him since he looks like he is someone who knows a lot.

”This big guy is the person I want, so we can give them this woman. Do you have a problem with that?”

In most cases, they should give the big man because he looked like he knew less than anyone else. However, this person was much more important to Evelynʼs original cause, so it was understandable to give the woman.

”Yeah. I will let you handle the gift. Should I give them a letter?”

”No need. I will just mention your name.”

Nathan crossed his arms, thinking, ʼWith these three getting caught, Iʼm sure the enemy will realize Iʼve been playing fool this whole time. They will either fully focus on me or avoid me entirely. Thereʼs nothing in between.

ʼIf itʼs the former, I will be too busy. And I think itʼs time to deal with the Ashton family. Even Selena must want to mention the Ashton family for quite some time.

ʼIn that case, the latter is better. If thatʼs the case…ʼ Nathanʼs expression turned solemn. ”Please give them a condition to execute this woman.”

”But wonʼt that ruin their plan? If they reveal something like that, the enemies will wonder if their plan for the infected will succeed or not. Thereʼs a high chance they will think the plan has been busted.” Evelyn frowned.

”Not necessarily. In the end, there are three people here. The enemies will wonder why only one of them is getting executed. As long as we create that scenario, they will be more careful and give us more time until they understand whatʼs fully transpired.”

Evelyn fell into deep thought. ʼThat also makes sense. Even if we are desperate, itʼs impossible to find everything in an instant. Iʼve been waiting for this for years, so I have to be patient and careful. I shouldnʼt let them escape from my grasp.

ʼMore importantly, he has been tricking them this whole time. I donʼt think itʼs bad to let him handle this matter.

ʼThree orders, huh?ʼ Evelyn couldnʼt help but remember the three conditions he set before.

ʼThe first is for me to fight them personally. I donʼt really care… No, itʼs more like this is something I should do. Itʼs not even a condition.

ʼAs for the second condition, it seems to be related to his abilities. If he can really use gravity or a space element just by listening to me, he will be powerful.

ʼBesides, that Absolute Zero has just proven this possibility. The third condition…ʼ

Evelynʼs expression turned grim. ”Nathan. Can you…” She paused. She almost forgot that his woman might not have known about this, so she shouldnʼt have said it.

As if he was reading her mind, Nathan smiled and said, ”I can.”

Evelyn looked shocked, wondering if they were on the same page. But Nathan just shifted his vision a bit, as if he was saying he couldnʼt say it directly because Selena and the others were there. However, he still answered her question.

ʼAs expected, his power might even be more powerful and versatile than I originally thought. In that case, he needs to get stronger as quickly as possible.

ʼNo, wait. Isnʼt that what he has been doing the whole time? He has asked for 40 mature class cores before…

ʼBut if I keep giving him things, doesnʼt it feel like the status has been exchanged? Itʼs more like he is the leader than I am. If this continues, the order will be replaced. I donʼt mind stepping down or even disbanding the group once I fulfill my revenge, but before that, I need to maintain my control…ʼ

Evelyn took a deep breath. ”Interrogate them. If you can find anything that is useful to know what happened in that banquet, I will owe you one. I will solve one of your problems in the future. Thatʼs the reward as well as the replacement of your first condition. Itʼs much more fair that way.”

”Are you sure about this?” Nathan looked shocked.

”I donʼt like repeating myself.” Evelyn glanced at the three girls and noticed a plan that would work against him while still fulfilling his condition.

She looked down for a few seconds, confusing everyone. When she raised her head, a smile blossomed on her face.

Nathanʼs eyes widened to the limit.

The smile was like no other. It was beautiful… No, beautiful might be an understatement. Nathan had read a lot of novel characters described as an otherworldly beauty or a beauty that could topple a country, but he never understood what it was until he saw her smile.

Even Selena and the others were captivated, despite being women. Her usual cold face and her smile were like hell and heaven. That gap might actually make it even more breathtaking.

”Iʼll see you soon. Enjoy your trip.” Evelyn used her teleportation to disappear, leaving the three of them speechless.

”What was that…” Nathan was trembling, finally understanding why Evelyn was once known to be one of the most beautiful women in the world.

”That should be my question.” Selena grabbed the back of his collar while glaring coldly from the side. ”What did you say earlier? I can what? Iʼve told you that I donʼt mind if you have another woman, but you should tell me about it first.”

ʼAh. Shit.ʼ Nathan also didnʼt expect that Evelyn would smile like that. He thought she would only do this in front of the people from the Sleeping Garden, not his girls. However, Selenaʼs response just reminded him of the reason for her action. ʼShe got me…ʼ

Selena dragged Nathan while saying, ”Sera. Letʼs have a truce for the time being. Risa too. We need to have a lengthy talk with him after this. Also, Asmodeus. Give us something good for at least three days!”
