Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 466: The King (Bonus)

The hall was in shambles. They had been assembled forcefully in the middle of the night, so with the addition of such bad news, they fell into despair.

”What are we going to do? This is over.”

”What will happen to my family?”

”No. This might just be something that wonʼt happen.”

”It will happen. Even if you canʼt trust the Forest Queen, you should trust the Pope. His insight has been accurate most of the time.”

”This is a disaster that no one has experienced before. A decade long winter or even famine and drought… I canʼt imagine how to handle this.”

The ministers looked frustrated and scared.

The king clicked his tongue. He had expected this, but the situation was worse than he imagined.

The king stood up and shouted, ”Shut up!”

”!!!” The ministers were startled and looked at the king dumbfoundedly.

”Have you inhaled the ash so much that your brain is fried? Is your brain just a decoration? Look at whatʼs going on right now.

”There is a natural disaster so big that it will envelop the entire world. This is something we havenʼt experienced before, but you know what? The Azilia Kingdom still survives to this day. Why?

”Even 500 years ago, our ancestors kept fighting with everything they got so that future generations could survive.

”In that case, why are you falling into despair right now? There are only 24 people in this hall. These 24 people are the ones who hold the fate of more than 100 million of our people. Just like our ancestors, we will fight. We will survive!”

The king turned to a minister. ”Minister Fellion! I will give you a direct order. Evacuate the families of all these people to the north.

”Now that your families are safe, what are you going to do? Keep running? If running is the solution, we would have run to another world just to escape from the alien.

”Thatʼs why we will fight! As long as there is still one more person to protect, we will hold the alien back here. Rise, my ministers! We will protect the Azilia kingdom just like our ancestors did and create another history!”

The ministers couldnʼt help but clench their teeth. They felt foolish. His speech couldnʼt help but light up the fire that had disappeared in their hearts.

That was right. There was still hope. Since their ancestors could do it, why couldnʼt they do it? They had developed the kingdom for so long and it was in a much better situation than the Azilia Kingdom 500 years ago. So why would they give up?

Stand up!

The ministers raised their fists into the air and roared. ”Oohhh! Weʼll fight!”

”Duke Evan! Your territory is the largest in the north. Is it possible to set up your territory as the main camp for the soldiers? All the resources will be concentrated on you,” A minister asked out loud.

”We need the world map. We have to predict the movement of other kingdoms as well.” Another ministerʼs voice echoed inside the hall.

”Marquis Dein and Count Quill will have to reinforce the front line for the time being. We have to assemble a lot more troops and send them to the front line. At least, we need to hold the aliens back for as long as possible without losing too many soldiers.”

Sullivan just smiled. Their morale had returned. Even those who were thinking about abandoning their duty ended up staying.

Sullivan lowered his head, asking, ”I should go to the front line, Your Majesty.”

”Yeah. You should. If I know Flora correctly, she must be searching for a way to find the Sage. Thatʼs why you donʼt have to worry about the Frexia Academy. Itʼs not like the Divine Hand can do a lot of things in this situation.

”However, do distribute the medicine once theyʼre ready. We canʼt let them take advantage of the chaos to create even more chaos. Appoint someone as your successor for that team.”

”Understood. The pill has been completed and they are about to mass produce it. It should only take two to four weeks to distribute the pills. But weʼre not sure about other academies in this situation.”

Julius nodded. ”Marquis Lashia. You have some connections with several academies, right? Use it to get all those infected students.”

Marquis Lashia had that connection for the sake of his personal power, but at this point, there was no need to hide that connection anymore. He nodded. ”I understand.”

However, when they were about to stabilize themselves, a soldier slammed open the door while shouting, ”Emergency! Emergency report!”

”Whatʼs wrong?” The prime minister asked out loud.

The soldier gritted his teeth before shouting, ”The ash cloud has reached our kingdom, specifically the land of Muui. At this rate, the entire kingdom will be fully covered in an hour.”

”!!!” The people gasped.

The king hurriedly ordered, as if trying to direct their attention. ”Countess Rita, Duke Benedict. I need both of you to start evacuating the people. Weʼll begin from the west side. Use everything you got, even if it means activating the teleportation circle.

”Donʼt make everyone go at once or weʼll lose everything. Open the granary to feed the remaining people. It will be useless if you are hoarding it since you have to move north ultimately. There will be a huge change in the money value, so just give it to the people.

”Prime Minister. How is the status of our researchers?”

”They are still checking. However, according to them, Nathan and Vivianʼs speculations are most likely true if the scale of the disaster is that big.”

”What we need right now is a farming method that works even in that situation. Assemble the researchers for that as well. After all, in that kind of weather, we can only resort to hunting. But the ashes will fill the animalsʼ bodies, so itʼs going to be dangerous to be consumed. We canʼt eat aliens either.

”Hence, food and shelter will be the problems. Think of a plan to get both of them.”

The prime minister hesitated for a moment. ”Should we move our capital as well to ensure a working government?”

”Itʼs not that urgent. It can wait. Sullivan is going to hold the front line as well, so we still have a lot of time. For now, I want to reduce the casualties as much as possible. The more citizens we have, the faster we can recover in the future.”

”Understood.”
