Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 465: Dividing Roles

”I will now give the orders.” Nathanʼs expression turned solemn. ”Flora. Remains in the school and maintains the order in this place. In the end, the summoners are going to play an important role in the future. Try to keep them as long as possible before chasing them north. Make sure you get the Sage and retreat together with him.

”Noelle. You are to guide us to this land. Weʼll develop the land for farming. Iʼll try to come up with a long-term solution once weʼre there.

”Selena. You are to remain here and come to us once Sera is back. Also, I wonʼt be able to bring a lot because of the time, so bring everything.

”Alavenya. Tell your father about the upcoming disaster so that he is prepared for it. Itʼs up to you whether you will come with us or stay with your father. I donʼt have the right to ask you to follow me.”

Nathan turned to Vivian and Charlotte. ”Master. Weʼll go and try to come up with the farm solution. We donʼt have a lot of time, so we have to make it count. Charlotte. Iʼm counting on you as well.”

”Yes.” Charlotte nodded.

”Sure. Letʼs go right now.” Vivian nodded. ”Once we succeed, weʼll come up with the barrier problem.”

”In that case, disperse.”

Flora immediately dragged Noelle out as if she wanted to say something.

Vivian returned to her mansion with the fastest speed and summoned her familiars to grab everything they needed. After all, there were a lot of important books and items that might be useful in the future.

Only Nathan, Selena, and Alavenya were left in the room.

Nathan scratched the back of his head. ”Sorry. I should have told you about the fairy queen.”

”Letʼs not talk about it.” Selena shook her head. ”I know that you are probably aiming for something other than the marriage itself. Well, we can talk about it once the situation stabilizes. So, just go. Donʼt worry about me and Sera.”

”Thanks.” Nathan smiled. He was really grateful for Selenaʼs understanding.

Alavenya couldnʼt help but ask, ”Nathan. Thereʼs something I want to ask first. Donʼt you need manpower for this?”

Nathan thought for a moment. ”Well, yes. However, Iʼm planning to have Noelle as an agent to get the manpower we need. Anyway, just go. Itʼs not the time for you to hold a grudge with your father. If we ever succeed and you need some food to maintain your mercenary group, just tell me about it. I will share some food.”

Alavenya fell silent for a moment. She clenched her fists before saying, ”In that case, I will bring you the manpower you need.”

Without waiting for Nathanʼs response, Alavenya just left the two behind.

”She… is probably going to convince her father to come, right? Did you just trick her into bringing the mercenary group?”

Nathan shook his head. ”She was the one offering it. So, why not? Having her father with us can increase our protection.”

”Understandable.” Selena chuckled.

”Well, I should apologize to you first.”

”To me? Why? Why do you even need to apologize? Charlotte again? We can talk about this later.”

”No.” Nathan sighed. ”At this rate, the Ashton family will definitely collapse. And I donʼt know if your uncle will be alive or not. In other words, itʼll be close to impossible for you to take revenge.

”In addition, because weʼre pulling back, itʼs going to be hard to find your father because his location will be much further away due to the expansion of the alien territory.

”Even though I told them that we had a year before the frontline collapsed, three months were what I predicted to be the most possible outcome.

”After all, even if the Azilia Kingdom could do it, the other kingdoms would face problems. In the end, we didnʼt have enough people to feed multiple kingdoms.

”As a result, it would be better to retreat right away and force a huge migration to the north as soon as possible. This way, we can conserve most of our forces. Once this crisis is over, we have the chance to retake our territory back.

”Thatʼs why Iʼm sorry. One year is probably enough to kill a warrior class alien, but three months are not.”

Selena was shaken. If she were to be honest, this problem didnʼt even appear in her mind. Yet Nathan still considered it and made such a heavy voice.

Selena just hugged Nathan while saying, ”Itʼs fine. I couldnʼt care less about my uncle. On the other hand, my father has been out there for such a long time. Waiting a few more years wonʼt change much.”

”Anyway, I will be going first.”

”Yes.” Selena nodded before leaving a peck on his cheek. ”I will catch up soon with Sera.”

Nathan nodded and rushed outside.

The only thing he needed to be worried about would be the foolish decision of the king. There was a chance for him to make a mess, which would result in multiple rebellions and the nobles fleeing the territory and abandoning their people.

It would be the worst-case scenario when that happened.

Whether it was fortunate or unfortunate, the people were not so foolish as Nathan read in novels.

The king, Julius, nodded his head. ”Thatʼs good. If Flora and Noelle stay by his side, we can still get some cooperation from him. Sullivan. You did good.

”However, the problem still doesnʼt change. What are we going to do with the kingdom?

”If all kingdoms are going to experience famine, it will cause chaos everywhere. The citizens will feel their backs have touched the corner and will do everything they can to get food and other things, even if it means killing each other.

”Thatʼs something I donʼt want to see. In addition, the soldiers will have a hard time fighting against the aliens with the supply getting cut off and their families experiencing the famine.

”Should we evacuate the entire kingdom right away and conserve at least 80% of our force and population?”
