Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 990: Chapter 137: The Evil Son of Manan and Hesse Territory’s Powerful Offensive (Part 3)

But judging by the current situation, the enemy’s morale and spirit were beyond his expectations, and these Knights were highly motivated to be the first to attack the fortress, unstoppable.

This greatly disrupted his rhythm, as he intended to use this trump card against the enemy’s main commander or the Divine General!

If he unleashed it at this moment, it would waste the most crucial tactic he had painstakingly prepared.

Therefore, he gritted his teeth and shouted, ”Tell the Knights of Manan to hold their ground; it’s not yet the darkest hour! Have the Priests communicate with the Sea God and send out the Son of Manan!”

Claude saw this and knew he couldn’t persuade the Commander-in-Chief.

In the Church of Manan, the general is usually the bravest and most fearless person. When disputes arise between two parties, they seldom resort to law but use civil arbitration.

The basic process is for both sides to each draw a boat to the disputed sea area, pour the water from the boat into the sea to attract many sharks. A plank is laid between the two boats, and the two parties arbitrate by battling on the plank until one person returns or leaves. The weapons generally used are axes or tridents, and the River Giants or Norsca People influenced by Manan also use this method to settle feuds or gain freedom as slaves.

In this atmosphere, people feel for the Commander-in-Chief just how they feel for Manan. He is unpredictable, intensely violent at times, gentle at others, but overall, people do not like him that much. They hold him in awe and worship.

But if his ability falls short of being revered, Manan’s followers are the quickest to become confused.

At this moment, Claude was very confused; even if they released the Son of Manan, could it really change the situation?

But there was no time for him to think further, under such tense circumstances, he could only immediately carry out orders. He promptly led the Knights and Priests of Manan into the Great Cathedral of Rapids Castle.

In every Divine Hall of Manan, a batch of the Son of Manan is always supplied—these are Manan’s children. Legend has it that Manan favored a Goddess named Lilith, but she lived in the sky out of Manan’s reach. No matter how Manan expressed love, there was no response, so Manan, that is, the sea, is eternally angry and turbulent. But due to this, Manan is always venting his frustrated love throughout rivers, lakes, and seas, so every river, large lake, including Sea Elves, Mermaids, Whales, are his children. Things like Leviathans, Behemoths, Sea Dragon Beasts, Tritons also have his lineage.

Manan’s Church naturally supplies these monsters with special Divine Power, and as the aquarium was opened, both sides in battle heard the terrifying sound of crunching.

Watching from the cliff, Su Li frowned instantly, focusing intently down at Rapids Castle, where dense numbers of monsters were pouring out from within their Manan Divine Hall, first rushing out was an enormous hermit crab.

They used human skulls as shells, corroded swords from the sea slashed from right to left through the whole skull, and under the vicious skull, six crimson crab claws and pincers grew!

This was the renowned Water Monster Bess’s Grudge Claw, its status and combat ability roughly equivalent to War Mastiffs that roamed the land, but its scale far surpassed. As soon as they appeared, they swarmed the streets densely and surged onto the walls.

They attacked all non-Manan’s followers, and Su Li personally witnessed at least dozens of Knights and Armed Attendants in the Blue Mirror Territory army who worshiped other Divine Spirits being madly besieged by them.

Their sharp crab pincers were like daggers, able to easily pierce the Leather Armor of Armed Attendants, even the Knights’ Armor couldn’t withstand them for long under their assault.

These were by no means ordinary Demon Crabs, rather akin to the bladed claws of Sadistic Desire Demons.

The characteristic of the followers and demons of Sado is razor-sharp crab claws, these claws are both weapons and a sensory spectacle, the attack brings twisted pleasure to the perpetrator and victim.

And Manan evidently is influenced by Sado, having myriad connections not only due to his unrequited love but also through his promiscuous dealings leaving behind these Sons of Manan.

These Grudge Claws’ sharp blades slaughtered hordes of Blue Mirror Territory troops but also caused massive trouble for the fiercely attacking Hesse Territory troops.

But the trouble didn’t stop there, after these monsters appeared, a large number of mature Ankang Man-eating Fish followed.

As fish possessing the faith of Manan, it evolved hands and feet quite naturally.

They hunched over, carrying their massive piranha heads, rushed out from the altar, wielding enormous tridents, densely packed like a Sea Monster army charging onto land.

Su Li had to wrinkle his brows and say, ”Why does this feel less like a war between two Border Princes and more like a war between human Knights and Sea Monsters?”

Hilude drew the Rare Level Sword Beast Slayer, mounted her Griffin, holding the golden Longsword upside down, heroically said, ”Lord, I’ll personally lead people to clear these monsters and take the fortress head.”

Su Li immediately waved his hand to stop her, saying, ”Don’t be hasty, Blue Mirror Territory is willing to use a strategy that harms the enemy a thousand, themselves eight hundred, and still won’t retreat from the fortress. I guess they must have an even greater hidden card. These monsters, we can blow them apart with cannons, it’s not time for you to act yet.”
