Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 966: Chapter 131: Three Mages in Service and Army Assembly

Although Hilude is not on the front line, he is also well-versed in the intelligence of the Blue Mirror Territory. The knights of their Sun Goddess Church have prepared for this battle for a long time, having simulated it many times on the sand table!

Upon hearing Su Li’s inquiry, Hilude immediately detailed: ”The Blue Mirror Territory is centered around Blue Mirror Lake as its absolute ruling center. All their hegemonic foundations and territorial constructions are built around Blue Mirror Lake. So the area of this territory is undoubtedly much smaller compared to ours, roughly only 600 imperial miles.”

imperial miles, Su Li contemplated for a moment and asked, ”So if we look at it this way, they are probably equivalent to our Lake Essonide area?”

”That’s right.” Hilude nodded and said, ”Thus, the defense deployment of Blue Mirror Lake has always relied on the border. They have gathered all their main forces at the eastern barrier Cold Wind Valley. This is a very perilous narrow pass, with steep and narrow mountains to the south that only allow one carriage to pass, and the raging Brionne River to the north. They have built the Rapids Fortress at this perilous pass, flanked by mountains and river.”

Rapids Fortress!

Isn’t this Tongguan Pass? The meaning of Tongguan Pass is that the river flows south within the pass, rushing against the pass mountain, hence it’s called Tongguan Pass.

Su Li also did not expect that the first piece of intelligence on Blue Mirror Lake would be so tricky!

Attacking a castle is already very difficult, and attacking a castle as steep as Tongguan Pass is bound to be even more challenging.

And what is more troublesome is not just this fortress leaning on majestic mountains to the south and a great river to the north. Hilude continued, ”More importantly, as followers of Manan, the Blue Mirror Territory people believe in the Tide and Ocean God and are adept at utilizing water in combat, possibly having the ability to control water flow or launch underwater assaults. They probably also possess strategic treasures like the Water-Repelling Pearl. During the siege, any carelessness could result in us being critically hit by their manipulation of the northern rivers.”

Flood seven armies?

This indeed is a tactic that requires utmost caution.

However, Su Li thought that the followers of Manan probably don’t possess such powerful capabilities. Altering weather or waves on such a large scale is not something ordinary people can accomplish; even Legendary Giant Dragons or Legendary Magic Masters would find it hard to achieve with magical force.

Therefore, what requires more caution is still their army taking advantage of the cover of waves to launch attacks from the river.

Su Li asked, ”What about their army’s intelligence? How many infantry and cavalry do they have available for combat?”

Hilude cautiously replied, ”The exact military intelligence is a top secret number, very hard to discover. Just as the scale of our territory’s army is known only to you and Marshal Orstein; not even I am aware of the entire territorial army’s size.”

”But from some intelligence and past battles, we have made an estimate. Detailed intelligence confirms that Baron Grant has been a baron for nearly five years, and the baron’s standard is to have three thousand infantry and cavalry. As the lord of the Border Prince’s Territory, he wouldn’t opt for ghost soldiers or substitute with second-rate troops. So he has at least over 1000 elite knights.”

”This is also evidenced by a clear battle record. Two years ago, a Green Tide arose on the northern Frost Fang Mountain Range of Blue Mirror Lake. Mogruk, the Green-skinned Warlord from the Ironjaw Tribe, won all challenges and successfully unified all Green-skinned Tribes within the Frost Fang Mountain Range, launching a massive waaaagh against Blue Mirror Lake.”

”Green-skinned Tribes, Goblin Race, and various War Gangs from the entire mountain range and surrounding plains gathered under Mogruk’s Battle Banner. Their numbers exceeded 20,000, rushing down the Frost Fang Mountain Range, advancing towards Blue Mirror Castle.”

”Baron Grant immediately mobilized all the forces in the territory, including Church Armament, mercenaries, and the Free People’s Corps, gathering a total of over 5000 men to engage in fierce battle with the Green Tide Alliance Army on the plains north of Blue Mirror Lake.”

”After two days and nights of bloody battle, he, along with the knights of Manan, led over a thousand elite knights to pierce through the right flank of the Green Tide, causing a massive collapse in the monster formations, leading to a shaking of moral and the ultimate disintegration of the entire army.”

”This battle also brought Baron Grant great fame, earning him notable prestige within the Mannan Church, along with much praise from influential figures. The Storm Guard Guardian Order of the Mannan Church subsequently stationed in Blue Mirror Territory.”

Storm Guard Knight Order?

This is one of the four major armaments of the Mannan Church, standing alongside the Sailor Knight Order, the Albatross Order, and Mannan’s Children as the top guardian orders of the Mannan Church.

However, they should not participate in secular territorial wars. Especially since there is also a Mannan belief within the Hesse Territory, and when Flash Spear City is built, the Mannan Church will also establish a presence there.

In this war, Su Li expected they would not get involved.

Therefore, Su Li slightly shifted focus away from this aspect and asked instead, ”Do they have any secular knight orders in their territory?”

Hilude nodded and said, ”They also have two Knight Orders in their territory. One is the Blue Sword Knight Order created by Baron Grant himself. This Knight Order is entirely loyal to the secular lord, scaling around 300 elite knights. Their combat power is expected to be far inferior to our Red Night Knight Order and possibly not even matching the Black Steel Redemption Knight Order.”

”But the Black Lynx Knight Order is entirely formidable! They were originally an elite knight order stationed at Blackfire Pass. Members wear golden arm patches and black lynx claw marks circling their right arms as the order’s emblem. In 2504, out of 400 noble knights, only nine survived the massacre in Sorrow Canyon, where their opponents, three thousand Beastmen, none survived. The famous Mad Count, to commemorate these nine survivors, appointed Sir Otto Gantalan as the first Great Master of the order. They founded the ’Black Lynx Knights,’ named after the mysterious mountain cat with jet-black fur.”
