Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 976: Chapter 134: The Hesse Territory’s Mighty War Car Fort Shines for the First Time

With Su Li’s command, the elite army of Hesse Territory immediately began a fierce attack on the Right Bank Camp.

Rusted Sword Knight Algernon, wielding his Sin-Slaying Greatsword, led over 200 dwarf rangers, swiftly arriving at the right bank of the Brionne River, launching a fierce offensive towards the camp on the gorge.

The northern bank of Cold Wind Canyon, where the camp was situated, was a nearly vertical high slope, but this couldn’t stop the combat rams’ steps. In fact, this was the battlefield that combat rams were born to excel at.

So when Hesse Territory’s army launched their attack, almost immediately, the camp on the mountain fell into a very urgent situation.

A large number of dwarf rangers jumped off the combat rams, charging toward the camp along the Five Miles Secret Gate. The continuous shooting of their firearms filled the canyon with gray smoke, forming a haze and dust.

In front of their shooting, hardly anyone in Blue Mirror Territory’s camp could show their faces.

Indeed, they had the advantage of the terrain, and even throwing rolling stones down could inflict substantial harm. But how many dared to show their faces under the muzzle of the dwarf rangers’ guns? After all, dwarf firearms truly had ancestral relics enhancement, and under the blessing of Dorglin’s usage of the Surveyor’s Sniper Telescope, they really could guarantee that every shot hits.

The defenders tried to show themselves several times, only to be shot by the firearms soldiers carefully aiming above, causing the death of 3 knights and over ten armed attendants.

At this moment, the army of Hesse Territory inside Rapids Castle could clearly see the dwarven army continuously climbing up the cliff. Their dispersed formation was already close to half the height of the cliff.

The rolling stones, thunder wood, and other throw downs from above failed to slow their attack, although dwarves continuously got hit, these resilient dwarves, as long as they didn’t fall from the air and get shattered, could find cover and use potions to heal, and even receive the healing of Shalya’s divine magic.

At the foot of the mountain, behind the attacking line, Hesse Territory’s army had already set up Shalya’s religious Holy Image, which would guide the constant descent of Shalya’s divine grace, healing and blessing a soldier every once in a while.

If the enemy on the mountain couldn’t destroy this religious Holy Image, it meant the attacking army continuously had a strong state support.

Inside Rapids Castle, Baron Grant, surrounded by a group of knights, looked across the river at the aggressively attacking army of Hesse Territory, furrowed his brow, and asked, ”Is Oerstein crazy? Attacking our camp so recklessly without regard to cost, does he not fear us harassing their attack line from the flank?”

He saw firsthand the tragic situation of dwarves falling, due to their high body density, once fallen from dozens of meters high, there’s absolutely no chance of survival.

Also, the dwarf rangers often engaged in mountain activities, and were used to such tragic events, thus they managed to maintain their morale and continue their attack.

This caused some concern for Grant, the camp they set up was meant to counter human knights, logically with the combat power of the Lynx Knight Order, it was very easy to block human knights’ attacks in the mountains. But when it came to mountain warfare, they still couldn’t gain an advantage over the dwarves.

This made the risk of the camp falling particularly high once dwarves joined the fray.

The Leader of the Black Lynx Knight Order, Joseph Hans, crossed his arms over his chest and looked up at the fierce assault across the river, exuberantly responded, ”Isn’t this a good thing? I see champion-level dwarf rangers among the attacking army, with this terrain, I’d be unsurprised if they died in the assault. Those are powerful champion-level rangers, after all, in front of boulders, all beings are equal.”

”Isn’t one of the purposes of setting up the right bank camp just this? How come you’re unhappy when the opponent really attacks?”

Compared to the reckless Joseph, Baron Grant was undoubtedly more cautious, otherwise he wouldn’t manage to stand firm in this peril-ridden Border Prince’s Territory.

He cautiously said, ”A champion-level ranger might influence the battle in other territories, but in the opponent’s army, I’m afraid they won’t make much of a ripple.”

”What worries me is why Oerstein suddenly launched such a fierce offensive. By calculation, they shouldn’t have this much military strength. So, I suspect they might have received large-scale reinforcements.”

”Suspect, suspect, suspect all day long, aren’t you tired?” Joseph impatiently interrupted his speculation: ”Even if the opponent has reinforcements, so what? Aren’t you going to use your tactics? Just drown them with Manan’s divine magic! Do their reinforcements make them all-powerful?”

Grant immediately clenched his fists in anger, Joseph had always maintained this attitude since entering Blue Mirror Territory, not only because the army built by their Mad Marquis leader inspired confidence, but more importantly, Joseph always held contempt for the Border Prince’s Territory.

In the eyes of this proud Knight Order Leader, those who were pioneering in the Border Prince’s Territory were all family failures. Which family would send their potential direct heirs to this barren land? They’re all kept in the family to inherit titles and territories!

He equally despised all Border Prince Territory knights. Even when facing Hesse Territory’s army, he never took them seriously.
