Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 984: Chapter 136: Triumph in the First Battle and Massive Gains

The brilliance of the Water-Repelling Pearl not only paved the way for the knights but also enveloped the Dwarf Warriors and Fallen Wolf Mercenaries who had previously been knocked down by the giant waves and sunk to the river bottom. Under the divine protection of the Water-Repelling Pearl, these robust warriors stood up from the murky water and stepped onto solid ”ground.” Though drenched and in a sorry state, their post-catastrophe fury and the indignity of being used as bait instantly transformed into a surging battle spirit!

”For the fallen brothers! Crush them!” The Giant Butcher wiped away the mud on his face, his eyes a blazing crimson as he let out a deafening roar. The Dwarfs raised their shields and war axes once again; this time, they no longer needed to worry about the rapids underfoot and could unleash their mountain-like power without reservation! They moved like moving steel fortresses, crashing fiercely towards the infantry that had been scattered by the Blazing Sun Knights and were trying to resist by relying on the cliffs. The gigantic war axe, fueled by the flames of vengeance, cleaved down, splitting the terrified Blue Mirror Territory soldiers along with their shields!

The Fallen Wolf Mercenaries also erupted with ferocity. The howls of wolves echoed through the river valley once more as they raised their warhammers, attacking the wounded prey like a true wolf pack. Yurik’s faith made them even more bloodthirsty in dire straits, channeling their fear of death and anger toward Blue Mirror Territory into a brutal harvest of the scattered enemy troops alongside the Dwarfs.

Meanwhile, the battle at the cliff’s peak also reached a boiling point. Witnessing the miraculous turnaround in the valley below and the holy reinforcements trotting over the waves, the spirits of the Dwarf Ranger and Air Cavalry soared!

”For the Lord! For victory! Kill them all!” Griffin Knight Edwin roared, and the griffin he rode dove down, its claws tearing apart a defiant Manan Knight. The Air Cavalry’s objective was clear, to open the camp gate and converge with the Dwarf Rangers, working inside and out to completely seize this camp!

The Swan Knights and Giant Eagle Knights spiraled and dived in the air, a dense rain of arrows and spears precisely suppressing the fire points of the defenders. Over a dozen Dwarf Rangers who had already climbed up the cliff stood firm like nails at the breach, wielding heavy warhammers and axes to clear the landing field for subsequent comrades. Without the support of reinforcements and morale from below, the cliff defenders’ line finally began to crumble.

In this battle, the most eye-catching were undoubtedly the powerful Divine Chosen Knights below, Hilude and three Divine Generals plunging like four red-hot blades deep into the enemy formation.

Every swing of Hilude’s longsword brought up a swathe of scorching golden flames, quickly evaporating the water shields of the Manan Knights in the face of the holy flames, their armors easily melted. Oerstein, the Divine General, wielded a gigantic warhammer, each strike like a meteorite crashing down, turning the enemy soldiers and their formations into mushy pulp. Dietrich raised the Holy Emblem high, Shalya’s warm light enveloping the charging knights like a shield, dispelling the cold and delaying effects brought by Manan’s Divine Magic.

The Manan Knights’ pride in their water combat techniques was completely neutralized by the Fiery Sun’s divine power. Their formations were shattered, the whirlpools they controlled were smoothed by the power of the Water-Repelling Pearl, and even the river they relied on for survival had become a plain road for the enemy! Despair began to spread among the Manan Knights.

The entire right bank of the river valley had become a bloody furnace. The golden Blazing Sun Knights, the roaring Dwarf Butchers, and the fierce Fallen Wolf Mercenaries, like three unstoppable torrents, cruelly crushed, divided, and annihilated the Blue Mirror Territory’s troops, who had fallen into chaos and despair, on this peculiar battlefield opened by the Water-Repelling Pearl. The water, or rather the water surface solidified by divine power, was dyed red with blood, floating with countless wreckage and bodies.

On the cliff, the wave banner symbolizing Manan Faith was fiercely tilted by a Champion Knight using a long lance, falling from the heights. The command voice of the Manan Knights ceased, and the mighty Black Lynx Knight Commander Joseph was shattered to pieces by Oerstein’s warhammer.

Su Li stood on a small hill, overlooking this battlefield miracle meticulously planned by him, ultimately realized by the Water-Repelling Pearl and the Blazing Sun Knights. He stood with arms behind his back, eyes calm. The sharpest claws of the Blue Mirror Territory—the Black Lynx Knight Order—were almost annihilated, and Manan’s elite followers and knights suffered heavy losses here. More importantly, the key camp guarding the right bank of Cold Wind Canyon was on the verge of changing hands!

”Send the order,” Su Li’s voice was calm yet carried an undeniable power, ”Clear out the remaining enemies, occupy the cliff camp! Open the Five Miles Secret Gate! Our target is Rapids Castle!”

Manan’s divine magic, like a raging wave, came quickly and subsided just as fast. This violent wave only had one surge. When Su Li used the Water-Repelling Pearl to block this wave of assault, the outcome was already determined as long as the Manan knights couldn’t gain the upper hand.

The battle continued from noon until dusk, when Hilude found Su Li, who had long since returned to rest within the camp. His heroic face was filled with uncontrollable excitement as he reported, ”My Lord, we have achieved a great victory. The first battle is a success. Not only have we captured the right bank camp, overlooking the entirety of Rapids Castle, but we have also captured over 500 Elite Knights and over 400 Armed Attendants. This battle has captured nearly 2000 men.”

Su Li was not surprised by the outcome of the overwhelming victory. When the decisive battle unfolded, all of this was inevitable. The size and quality of Hesse Territory’s army far surpassed the opponent. The raid by nearly ten Champion-level Air Cavalry on the right bank camp had already sealed the fate of this camp.
