Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 973: Chapter 133: The Majestic and Mighty Fantasy Army and the Imminent Offensive (Part 2)

A massive figure suddenly swept across the sky above the city, its outstretched wings covering the sun, bringing a gust of wind as it flew over the entire army from behind.

This shadow loomed over everyone’s heads, and every soldier looked up to witness the same exhilarating spectacle.

The sight they saw was the Hesse Lord, the invincible Sun Goddess Star of Tomorrow, Radiance of the Fierce Sun, Steel Mercy Father, Bauhinia Knight, Su Li, riding a gigantic dragon over 50 meters long, with a wingspan exceeding 70 meters, sweeping across the entire army.

The low-flying air cavalry always greatly boosts the army’s morale, let alone the world’s most powerful Dragon Cavalry!

As Su Li rode the giant dragon and sped past, the entire army gazed up at the majestic and noble figure in the sky, fervently raising their arms and cheering, their morale soaring instantly.

The Hesse army was already high in morale, and with Su Li’s encouragement, the army was enthusiastic and took only three days to rapidly advance to the frontline camp where Marshal Oerstein was stationed.

At this moment, Marshal Oerstein had already clashed several times with Baron Grant’s army in Cold Wind Canyon, with only a few hundred soldiers engaging in three battles.

The combat prowess of the Sun Goddess Church Knights was undeniable, but the Mannan Church Knights also showed incredible resilience and were not directly defeated; instead, they launched several counterattacks, relying on their numerical advantage to restrict the Hesse army’s movements and attack their camps.

The most fierce battle occurred last night when the Black Lynx Knight Order launched a raid on a southwestern camp on a small hill in Cold Wind Canyon. This was an important defensive stronghold on the outskirts of Marshal Oerstein’s main camp and a crucial vantage point, as well as a frontline reconnaissance outpost to prevent a surprise attack from the Blue Mirror Territory.

Therefore, for the Blue Mirror Territory’s army to launch a large-scale offensive, they first had to eliminate this forward camp. The Black Lynx Knight Order mobilized over 200 knights and more than 300 armed attendants to besiege this camp, which had only 30 dwarves and over 60 armed attendants.

Both sides fought fiercely, with the battle raging from night until dawn. Corpses rolled continuously down, blood covered the mountain path, and the pile of bodies in front of the camp gate reached over 3 meters high.

Ultimately, Hesse territory held the line at the cost of nearly all armed attendants perishing and over half of the dwarves injured, awaiting reinforcements from Marshal Oerstein, who broke through the enemy’s outer defenses and arrived successfully.

Seeing their three lines of defense breached and unable to capture the camp on the hill, the enemy had to leave behind over 300 corpses and retreat back to Rapids Castle.

When Su Li arrived, Marshal Oerstein had gone over 30 hours without sleep. After counting the losses with bloodshot eyes, he waited at the camp gate.

Seeing a large group of Half-Lion Griffin Knights escorting Su Li, he took a deep breath, saluted Su Li, and said, ”Greetings, Lord. May the Goddess’s light always illuminate your sword’s edge. With your command arriving, my pressure greatly eases.”

Su Li jumped off the dragon, and then Aeliria transformed into the appearance of the serene Queen, following behind him. A considerable number of powerful Divine Chosen Knights and Champion Knights clustered around them as they walked into the camp.

Su Li led these formidable reinforcements to Marshal Oerstein’s side, laughing and patting his strong arm, saying, ”It has been a long time, my dear Marshal. Your lion-like presence remains undiminished. I’ve heard you won another great victory. You firmly kicked the backside of those self-righteous Mannan Knights with your boot!”

Marshal Oerstein replied composedly, ”Indeed, Lord. The Blue Mirror Territory attempted a surprise attack on our camp, but their plot was thwarted by us. However, before your arrival, the situation was far from optimistic. The enemy relied on numerical superiority, constantly pressing us down.”

Relying on numbers to win has always been a military principle.

And this also showcases Marshal Oerstein’s unparalleled military ability. He only leads a little over 1000 infantry but has valiantly held the line at Rapids Castle, even though the enemy’s forces are several times his size and still cannot advance their front. With Hesse territory’s army being only a fraction of the enemy’s size, they maintained their strategic offensive while the opponent could not breach this standoff line.

Su Li vigorously swung his right fist and said excitedly, ”My Marshal, I’ve brought the army to solve this problem for you.”

”Let’s talk inside the military tent; the size of our army will surely surprise you!”

Oerstein immediately stepped aside, inviting Su Li to enter the camp first, then walked alongside Hilude into the tent. The elite Black Forest Guard Knights of Hesse immediately took over the guard duties near the tent.

As several knights and generals clustered around Su Li entered the tent, they first saw the giant map hanging behind the main command position in the tent. It detailed the information collected from the current intelligence on the camps and strongholds of both sides.

The length of the confrontation line exceeded Su Li’s expectations, with the main force undoubtedly in the Cold Wind Canyon area, but there were also extensive garrisons at the northern Frost Fang Mountain Range and the southern Sand Shadow Forest.

Especially at the Frost Fang Mountain Range, where Marshal Oerstein meticulously arranged six or seven dwarf outposts. Because this mountain range’s terrain is not as steep as the Gray Mountain Range, humans and Green Skin can cross it. Moreover, it contains precipitous Gray Rock Peaks, as well as deep canyons and a complex cave network.
