Pioneer Lord: Starting From Daily Intelligence

Chapter 953: Chapter 127: Preparations for Contact with the Wood Elves (Part 3)

”That would be the best.” Su Li glanced at the time. It was almost afternoon. After meeting this Elf, today’s work would pleasantly conclude.

So he said, ”Then please go and invite her over. I will wait for her at Bjorn Shallow Bay.”

After Vandar left, Su Li first went to the edge of Lake Revelin and, having nothing else to do, started fishing in leisure.

It’s unimaginable how many enormous fish are in this lake, making the enjoyment of fishing truly full.

But shortly after he sat down, a woman came to his side.

To his astonishment, this woman was none other than Tal’s Maid, High Priestess Luna Deshan.

She gracefully rode her exceptionally tall and robust Silver Horn Giant Shepherd Deer up the embankment.

Su Li raised an eyebrow and asked, ”Ms. Luna Deshan, what brings you here?”

This isn’t even the Summer Solstice, so there’s no knight displaying abs for viewing by the lake.

Suddenly, he thought of a possibility and asked, ”You’re not here to make trouble for me, are you?”

”Trouble for you?” Luna Deshan jumped down from the Giant Shepherd Deer, patted its rump, and the Silver Horn Giant Shepherd Deer leisurely went aside, began drinking lake water and chewing the grass by the road, while behind it, a nun from the Dawn Church was harvesting the magically potent Moonlight Alfalfa with a Skull Scythe.

This extraordinary grass cannot be harvested with iron tools, or it would greatly damage its quality, and might even cause the warhorses that consume it to mutate.

So the nuns from the Dawn Church have always used the specialized Skull Scythes for harvesting. In this regard, one can see how the two churches often cooperate closely.

However, it’s not always harmonious between the two churches.

Luna Deshan raised an eyebrow, retorting, ”Why would I make trouble for you? Are you referring to your hunting of a Mutated Deer King?”

”You need not worry about that. Tal is the King of Nature, ruling over the wilderness, hunting, beasts, and the changing of the seasons. In our doctrine, Tal is often depicted as a strapping hunter adorned in animal skins, wielding a Long Lance or Hunting Bow, with antlers or a wolf’s head adorning him, accompanied by wolves, bears, eagles, and other beasts. His sacred sites are often large stone altars deep within forests, ancient trees, or hidden caves, with followers primarily being hunters, rangers, rangers, and remote villagers.”

”Indeed, we do have some conflicts with the Dawn Church regarding hunting and taming. For instance, when wolves prey on livestock. But unless you forcibly tamed a Mutated Deer King as a mount, there would be no vehement opposition to hunting.”

Upon hearing this, Su Li breathed a sigh of relief and continued leisurely holding the fishing rod. That was a relief; at least she wasn’t here to cause trouble.

Then he remembered that while the Dawn Goddess Church in Hesse Territory was continuously establishing monasteries and holy sites, Luna Deshan’s Tal Church seemed to have no significant facilities, and its presence was even weak!

Su Li then curiously asked, ”What is your church’s doctrine like? How come I’ve never seen your holy sites.”

Luna Deshan immediately responded with reverence, ”Our doctrine is closely connected to Tal’s character, emphasizing survival of the fittest, highlighting the harshness of natural law, and asserting that humans must prove their worth through hunting and survival trials.”

”At the same time, we honor the wilderness, rejecting excessive urbanization and industrialization (like the dwarves’ steam and artillery technology in Heisen City), advocating harmonious coexistence with nature.”

”We also emphasize the cycle of seasons, with followers celebrating through rituals like spring hunts, autumn harvests, and winter stores, praying for Tal’s protection against famine and beast attacks.”

”As followers of Tal, we can also borrow Tal’s Divine Magic to enhance our combat abilities.”

”For example, [Wrath of Nature] can summon Natural Spirits or beasts, such as directing wolf packs, giant bears, and eagles to assault targets.”

”[Hunter’s Mark] bestows blessings on followers or weapons, with Priests applying beast blood to weapons, causing devastating damages to the minions of Chaos.”

”Of course, the most powerful divine spell belongs to [Storm Howl], which summons local thunderstorms, gales, or hail, disrupting enemy formations or extinguishing fires.”

”Moreover, our high-tier divine spell, Beast Herd Domination, can temporarily control a giant beast (like a Forest Dragon, Scorpion-tailed Lion, or Demon Bull) to force it to fight for the believers. However, this is a highly risky affair; if the caster’s will is not resolute enough or the faith is not devout enough, there’s a high probability of backlash.”

After listening, Su Li couldn’t help but click his tongue, feeling indeed that the Tal Church doesn’t quite align with the development in Hesse Territory, no wonder their presence has always been weak.

However, regarding the upcoming exploration of the Black Pine Forest and contact with the Wood Elves, they would be of great assistance.

After all, they are well-suited to move in forests, able to greatly aid the leaders in establishing a foothold in the Black Pine Forest.

And indeed, this is the current situation. If Reya’s faith is primarily in the countryside and rural areas, then Tal’s faith is mainly in forest outposts and between Limborg and hunting grounds.

Luna Deshan also explained, ”In fact, our church is not without holy sites. We have two wild holy lands in the Black Pine Forest.”

”One is the [Ancient Giant Oak], located under the oak tree where Green Dragon Aelirea built its nest. After Aelirea moved to our Holy Purple Vine Tree, Marshal Orstein and Black Steel Redemption Knight Order Leader Gilles (the leader at the time) had this place cleared three or four times, completely driving out the beasts and monsters below. Now, it’s guarded by our Tal Church’s Cultivators and Paladins.”
