My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 3036 -1011: Bad News and Good News Brought by a Fish (Part 2)

“Ah!”

Amid the piercing screams, the Omega power granted by Murphy swept over the mermaid’s entire body like a scanner, purifying the subspace corruption spreading within, causing her to spew black blood in her final exhaustion.

Among it were shocking fragments of corroded innards.

As it hit the ground, it wriggled like a parasite, only to be crushed and purified into ash under Three Five Battles’ boot, who called upon the Purification Fire of the God of Nature with a face full of disgust.

“Judging from the tail patterns, this poor child should be just an adult. The corrosion from the subspace took half her life, and this kind of injury, even if purified, will take a long time to recover. Given the special life form of mermaids, this time may be calculated in decades.”

Triss looked at the twitching mermaid in the fish tank. She reached out to remove a smooth, stone crafted insignia from the adorned shell and coral armor on the upper body, examined it, and then said:

“She is from the Temple of the Giant Rock, a servant of the Wanderer Cui Tan, among the eleven Wandering Priests.”

“According to previous information, the injury was possibly sustained during battles with The Hidden Worship of Daguan, meaning that the merfolk we defeated at Charldo Harbor have not left the region and are still entrenched somewhere nearby.”

“You can just ask her about these things.”

Murphy withdrew his fingers and gestured to Triss. The Blood Vulture Duke cast a wake-up spell on the mermaid, who soon woke from her weak and bewildered dreams, letting out a panicked scream:

“Sea Abyss Deity, save us! The Evil God… the Evil God is about to rise from the abyss; it will pollute the entire Misty Ocean.”

“Calm down, child, you’re safe now.”

Triss stepped forward to soothe her using a guiding technique of psychological suggestion:

“Tell me, what have you encountered?”

“Fish swarm… a swarm of fish emerged from the abyss and surrounded us… they turned the seawater black, like a terrifying decaying labyrinth… our sisters are still fighting, but Daguan’s Saint Heir attacked us… they’re migrating, no, hunting… beneath the northern coast, the offspring of the Evil God have built a nest.”

In a halting voice, the mentally overwhelmed mermaid spoke:

“Those humans… they were distracted by the Wolf People, while the merfolk conspires in the background… Kato’s coast… the sea eye under Lake Xiuerpres… we saw… the merfolk and Wolf People worship the same dark Origin… Daguan’s black fin has stretched towards the Continent…”

Each river, each lake, each stream…

Stay away from water!

Beings of the land, stay away from those waters…

And those tempting baits and vicious lines… that thug shouting the name of Avalon… he raised his fist… it hurt so bad, I remember him…”

“Cough cough, maybe let’s skip the last part.”

Three Five Battles was so embarrassed at this moment he could have dug a three-room one-hall with his toes; the other anglers laughed and patted his shoulder in comfort, while Triss looked at him with a sympathetic gaze, saying:

“Mermaids are most famous for their ability to harness storms, but their biggest trait is holding grudges. Poor Three Five Battles, you have no idea what kind of trouble you’ve stirred. In the era when I walked the world as the Crimson Witch, stories of mermaids and vengeful sailors were enduring legends on the Misty Sea.

If you harm a mermaid, you become the enemy of all mermaids.

These mermaids will patiently wait beneath the waves until years, decades later when you once again tread the ocean, it will be welcomed by the ‘Avenger’ Tidal Hunters from Vicanos Temple seeking capture and revenge.

Those fierce hunters dubbed ‘Deep Sea Valkyries’ will drag you beneath the depths, until you swallow your last breath in cold, painful despair within the seawater.

What’s worse, their Priests of the Giant Rock will pettily record the exact day and manner in which you provoked them, and the memory of the mermaid remains sharp until each small event of every single day of their life is recalled during their dying moments.

Thus, if you cannot gain forgiveness from this little mermaid, I would advise you to never approach the sea in your lifetime.

She is part of the demigod clan of the Wanderer, and Cui Tan bestowed upon every tidal priest of the Temple of the Giant Rock the talent to traverse the waters, which means if she wishes, she could even chase you into the Kaderman River of Transylvania.

In extreme circumstances, when you bathe, a pair of vengeful hands might reach from the tub to strangle you.”

“Damn!”

Triss’s deliberately painted fear made Three Five Battles crack somewhat.

The other anglers also tactfully moved aside to “isolate” Three Five Battles, pretending to have no connection to this matter, causing the Avalon Believer to truly regret why he jumped into the water and punched this “Big Fish”.

But in reality, things weren’t as scary as Triss described.

Given Cui Tan’s good-natured personality, it had already been decided that his demigod clan was broad-minded, never leading to inviting Vicanos Temple’s Tidal Hunters to execute a “revenge operation.”

As for ‘Avenger’ Vicanos, it’s likewise a demigod clan of the Sea God Leviathan. Unlike the amiable Cui Tan, Vicanos is a venomous sea serpent, known across the Star Realm for its narrow-mindedness and vengeful reputation.
