My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 3024 -1007: Got It! The Next Patch’s Answer Is Mechanic! (2)

But the outcome of being exiled is pretty miserable.

These guys aren’t allowed to stay on the Ligurian Peninsula(Liguria) anymore. Even though Transylvania’s officials opened their arms to them right away, to be honest, even a lunatic whose brain is full of gears knows Transylvania is an absolute hellhole.

If there were any other options, no one would go.

But they don’t really have a choice. With that Vampire Lord’s style of doing things, if they insist on not going to Transylvania, they’ll probably be heading to their new homeland as Midnight loved ones.

Murphy would never allow this batch of crooked mechanical talent to slip away from his hands.

And the wreck salvage work this mechanic is doing right now is part of the Mechanical Church’s big relocation.

They have to take all the “high-precision, cutting-edge” stuff they made, and try to bring as many engineering components as possible, because Transylvania is notoriously poor. It’s basically impossible for there to be a complete engineering production chain over there.

Faced with the players’ endless whining, the mechanic—already pissed off—didn’t bother to coddle them. He snapped back in a sharp, nasty tone:

“You think we don’t want to build it? Isn’t a badass big robot every mechanic’s dream? The problem is we can’t! Got it?”

No conditions for it!

“All the materials needed to make large-scale mecha are strictly controlled by the Steam Lords. Even the stuff we use to make Mechanical Beasts is bought off the black market. And those black market guys aren’t running a charity—no cash, no service!”

“The Mechanical Church is famous for being a gathering place for bookish nerds. You want us to tinker with machines, sure. Make money?

Hah. If we really had a head for making money, would we have ended up reduced to local sewer rats?”

“Oh?”

Hearing the mechanic complain with that much resentment, Wu Ma exchanged a glance with his two lackeys. In the end, the one who “kept yelling ‘hot hot hot’” rubbed his hands together and quietly said to the mechanic:

“So what you’re saying is, as long as we provide enough materials, you can cobble together a stupid bipedal robot that can carry people for us?”

“Of course! Don’t underestimate the tech power of the Mechanical Church!”

The Half Body Mechanic said confidently, but then guiltily added:

“But just look at the environment around us—you can tell we don’t have the conditions to build complex manned combat machines right now. We can only make something simple. It’s not that our skills are lacking, it’s mainly we don’t have the tools, you get it?

The more precise and complex the instruments, the more they need tools that fit the hand. If once we get to Transylvania we can develop tech without restraints, then sooner or later, that… whatever ‘Gundam’ you’re talking about, we’ll be able to build one too!”

“Alright, alright!”

Wu Ma immediately got excited.

He dove straight into the forum on the spot, picked out a blueprint for a bipedal robot drawn by a big-name player from the mechanics section, and then imported it into his Adventure Assistant to show the mechanic via optical projection.

He asked:

“Can you make this thing? Look, it’s simple as hell—basically just a cockpit and two legs. We don’t even need arms; just make them into integrated Thermal Melt Guns and heavy shields…”

“Mm, it doesn’t look that complicated. We can use a Mechanical Bear’s power furnace to replace its engine. We’ve got mechanical joints and such right here. It’s just the outer armor that’s a pain. This thing looks super bulky—if you want it to run fast and stay stable, we’ll need a high-precision gyroscope.”

The mechanic really did have some skill.

He carefully analyzed the structural diagram Wu Ma pulled out, then shook his head and said:

“This blueprint is obviously wrong. It looks like some amateur imagined the internal structure and broke it down from there. But I can revise it. The difficulty of making this thing is about the same as making a Mechanical Bear. But like I said, we’re short on materials.

If you want me to help you build this, that’s fine.

First, you’ll need a high-precision gyroscope. Second, a Combustion-Gold Power Furnace for a large Thermal Melt Gun. And finally—money!

We need a whole lot of money!

Only then can I hire my companions to join this project.”

“Money’s no big deal! We’ll go buy the materials in a bit.”

Wu Ma rubbed his hands and asked:

“What’s the fastest you can make it?”

“Uh, if you’re aiming for full combat loadout, it’ll probably take about a month.”

The mechanic thought for a bit and gave a conservative estimate. He said:

“But if you only want it to move and not fight, then two or three days will be enough. Like I said, this thing looks impressive, but its design concept is actually pretty outdated, and we already have most of the components here.

I can’t guarantee it’ll look exactly the same, but I can definitely give you a bipedal robot that moves and looks intimidating.”

“Good! Come on, let’s sign a contract! Two days, that’s what you said, right? If you can’t finish it, don’t blame the brothers for wrecking your place. I’m going to find the guild leader for the money right now.”

Wu Ma cheered, then turned and ran out to contact Chen Long to stir things up, while the guy who kept yelling “hot hot hot” immediately started drafting the contract—his job was similar to Crow’s; they were both lawyers.

Of course, his level was still far below an old hand like Crow.

The mechanic stood there stunned. He hadn’t expected that his bragging would actually bring a huge commission to the Mechanical Church, which was on the verge of disbanding. But now that he’d talked big, and they were already out looking for people to scrape together a down payment, if he couldn’t deliver, the Mechanical Church’s already terrible reputation would get even worse.
