My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 3022 -1006: Loyal Brother’s Trial · National Quest_3

I understand that such fantasy technology is not only difficult to comprehend but also defies common logic for everyone here. As the saying goes, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a black cat or a white cat, as long as it catches mice it’s a good cat. Our main task right now is to gain control of a sun vessel; all means must serve this purpose.

I’ve finished my recommendations, please consider them.

Additionally, this operation links two worlds. While the mobilized player groups conduct reputation and diplomatic efforts in the Sanghai Empire, all external support personnel required for collective action here need to be verified and have their identities confirmed by the relevant departments.

I’d rather this matter progress slowly than to let those who shouldn’t know about these things into this system.

From now on, our research facility will officially become part of the ‘Sun Vessel Operation’ and a temporary base. Before the end of this operation, you will spend some collective life time here.

I’ll give everyone a day to handle personal matters.

Tomorrow at midnight, the research facility will officially enter a lockdown state.”

After Old Qin finished speaking, the big shots immediately rose and left.

They have many tasks to complete, just discussing at least three plans for writing and simulating the main control program for the sun vessel. After basic operations in the real world, they’ll replicate it in Transylvania.

Loyal Brother and them also have quite a lot to do.

Lord Qin has already gathered almost all the members of the Loyalty Song Guild here, and more members will arrive subsequently. As Lord Qin’s right-hand man, Loyal Brother, Five-wheel Team, and Old soldier of Qing dynasty will surely be very busy just with reception and registration work.

After everyone else left, Mengha, who had always been quite low-key, pushed Lord Qin’s wheelchair out of the meeting room, but Old Qin usually resists this kind of help as he has the unique pride of an old stubborn man. Yet this time he did not refuse Mengha’s help.

He knew that Mengha surely had something to say to him.

The old man and the young man strolled to a garden in the research facility. After confirming there was no one around, Mengha spoke:

“This morning before I logged off, Cement Sister found me. She discussed a very obscure topic with me, regarding the form of existence for players in Transylvania and the ‘real player welfare’. I thought it necessary to inform you of this.”

“Ah? What do you mean by ‘real welfare’?”

Old Qin felt this topic was a bit baffling. Wasn’t player welfare reflected in the game? But considering Cement Sister’s unique form of existence now, Old Qin squinted his eyes immediately.

He probably guessed what Mengha wanted to talk to him about.

“Lord Qin, though it’s quite gloomy, have you contemplated what happens after death?”

Indeed, Mengha’s opening struck directly at Old Qin’s contemplations. He paused for a moment, thumped his leg, and said:

“I won’t hide from you, Kobayashi. When I was discharged earlier, the doctor told me my condition is very bad. He doesn’t recommend maintaining my current routine, especially concerning the effects and stimulation of the game helmet on brainwave and emotions.

For you young people, mood swings are merely a release of bad emotions, but for an old man like me with old injuries, such sudden disconnections as last time already signify danger.

My partner has been arguing with me recently.

She demands I quit this game for the sake of my old life; honestly, I’ve pondered this issue as well.

But the pressing national task makes it impossible for me to quit at this moment. Hence, facing your question, I would say, I’ve thought about it, more than once.

I know what you want to say. Cement’s current situation perhaps is my future, right?”

“Yes, real player welfare!”

Mengha said softly:

“Cement Sister isn’t sure, as her situation is quite unique, but she told me if Alpha Company wants to, they could continue other players’ lives in the Transia World in an absolutely realistic way.

However, there still needs proof at present…

To be honest, I don’t dare delve into this too much.

You know, our nation has had an obsession with ‘immortality’ from ancient times, and in Transylvania to attain immortality is too simple, just get bitten by a vampire.

I fear imagining if Cement Sister’s conjecture gets verified, it would stir an appalling wave in society…”

“Then don’t speak of it!”

Old Qin hummed softly, leaned back in his wheelchair, and closed his eyes.

He said softly:

“Keep quiet! Just act as if nothing ever happened. You go back and warn Cement on my behalf to keep her mouth shut on this issue! Regardless of whether it is so-called ‘player welfare,’ we have to wait until we truly reach that moment to unveil it.

If I’m fortunate enough to become the proof you need, I won’t hypocritically reject this blessing.

After all, I’ve indeed contributed to that world, but I absolutely won’t proactively promulgate these, you all better not either, let it be an ‘easter egg’ left for the players.

Only when a fulfilled life reaches its end, when everything returns to null, is the moment fitting for revealing that exciting easter egg.

Hm…

This time Niu Niu, Dust Beater, and Xiao Qu have good fortune.”
