My Players Are So Fierce

Chapter 3029 -1009: The “After-Sales Service” Mr. Morphy Has Been Longing For Finally Arrives

Minkus Steam Valve left the Steam Lord’s mansion feeling utterly exhausted.

This exhaustion stemmed from the continuous meetings and decisions being made with various leaders over the past few days. For the reinforcements currently at Charldo Harbor, their duties to assist in defending the city had already been completed. Apart from the Transia People who were still fervently seeking battle and frequently launching attacks around the city, other reinforcement camps were preparing to withdraw.

The focus of the Steam Lords’ efforts these days was precisely this. They hope to offer more compensation to enlist further foreign aid to help them fight until the entire peninsula is completely liberated.

Minkus had nothing to say about this.

Facts have proven that the trait of timidity is deeply ingrained in the Half-body Men, and without foreign leadership, their confidence in recovering their lost territory is pitifully low.

However, as one of the Steam Lords, Minkus did not disdain such cowardly behavior. As the one currently responsible for upgrading the military supplies, he was fully aware that the Half-body Men defense forces were pitifully weak in terms of combat effectiveness and fighting spirit. If other lords insisted on relying on Charldo Harbor’s warriors to liberate the peninsula, he would be genuinely concerned.

This tangled resolution, however, has made Minkus aware of an even greater peril.

The Half-body Men must henceforth completely abandon their original isolationism and conservatism, and participate more actively in various major events on the Continent. Most importantly, they must possess their own armed forces.

The scale can be smaller, the numbers can be less, but the fighting spirit and determination must be nurtured. Otherwise, every crisis would rely on foreign rescue, not to mention the monetary cost, just the humiliation of such a predicament is enough to make even the most shameless Half-body Man feel a deep sense of shame.

Besides, as the saying goes, every crisis contains an opportunity.

Currently, there is actually a good opportunity to resolve the tensions between Charldo Harbor’s inner city and outer city. If the outer city people couldn’t integrate into Charldo Harbor’s industrial system, then simply let them join the new military system, contributing to the city in a more direct way, and through military honor merge into the reform system Half-body Men must implement.

Thinking about these matters concerning the future of the species, the weary Minkus returned to his laboratory located in the university city burdened with worries.

For mechanics, the laboratory is their office, bedroom, dining hall, and entertainment facility, especially for unmarried old solitary Half-body Men like Minkus. He certainly didn’t want to live alone in a huge house of several hundred square meters.

That would be too lonely.

But just as the great mechanic pushed the door open, he was stunned to see an uninvited guest sitting on his mechanical chair.

That enigmatic Transylvania’s handsome Governor sat comfortably in the mechanical chair, absorbed in reading a copy of the “Mechanist’s Bulletin.”

However, Minkus immediately realized that Murphy was just posing, as he didn’t believe that with the engineering theory level of a vampire, Murphy could decipher the theoretical conception about the seven-unit coupled-track multi-thread differential machine published in the bulletin.

Because even he found it headache-inducing…

Not that it’s particularly difficult to understand.

It’s mainly that the entire piece of theory is overly embellished, filled with excessive verbosity, wrapping cliched rhetoric in novel concepts attempting to scam a wave of sponsorship. Articles of such nature are as abundant in “Mechanist’s Bulletin” as fish in the river.

Therefore, if Murphy’s first words were that he completely understood the article, that would precisely signify that Murphy truly knew nothing about mechanical engineering.

“Ah, please forgive my indulgence in this brilliant essay on frontier technology, I didn’t even notice the owner of this laboratory had returned.”

Seeing Minkus staring at him with a peculiar gaze, Murphy smiled warmly as he stood up, placing the newspaper at the corner of the table, and theatrically commented:

“What a theory! Full of fashionable and novel terms, reminding me of those scenes when scammers eloquently spread their deceit… Hmm, look at your disappointed expression, you didn’t really think I’d flaunt my meager knowledge pretending to be a mechanical enthusiast in front of you, did you?

I have many bad habits, but never directing the knowledgeable from an ignorant stance is the only good habit I have aside from respecting women.”

The Vampire Lord shrugged and gestured “please” to Minkus, saying:

“You can mock me for not understanding engineering, but in truth, I’m very familiar with scammers’ tricks; that itself is sufficient.”

“You are a true sage.”

Minkus said with a stern face:

“If only you didn’t casually read my mind, that would be perfect. Tell me, why would someone of your stature appear in an old solitary Half-body Man’s laboratory at dusk?”

“Don’t pretend, Sir, isn’t it obvious?”

Murphy snorted and said:

“About Old Bach, perhaps we should refer to him by another name, ‘Scholar’! I’m quite curious now, as one of his closest people, what kind of reasoning you’ll put forth to convince me you’re not on his side?”

The Vampire Lord deliberately bared his teeth to amplify his threatening words and intimidatingly said:

“After all, I must ensure the Half-body Men stand on the right side in the upcoming actions, for which I wouldn’t hesitate to employ some sinister control methods unique to vampires.”
